Mother Tucker Tip: Last Examinations Before Holiday Vacations! It’s the last week of school before your holiday vacations, but don’t let your children check out just yet! For many, it’s week of exams, presentations, and projects. Here is some advice to them to pass along to your children to keep them motivated through the final bell. 1.No race was ever run by a runner who didn’t cross the finish line. The last lap is always the most important. 2.When you excel in academics, you excel in life. 3.If assistance in necessary, be supportive and constructive, but do not work for your children. Learning comes from challenging yourself. 4.Christmas time is near, and it’s much merrier with a strong final push. Keep up the work and you’ll achieve greatness. #mother #motherhood #parenting

Often, we hear about the importance of finding confidence by oneself, as if it's a solitary journey. While there's truth in this, the value of an encouraging push from someone else is sometimes overlooked. For instance, I was hesitant to try kitesurfing, but my friend noticed my interest despite my fears. I nearly backed out, but with my friend's supportive push—without any pressure—I felt safe and confident enough to give it a go, and it led to many more kitesurfing adventures. Reflecting on this, I wonder if I could have mustered the courage alone. Perhaps, but having my friend's belief in me made it significantly easier. This experience taught me the importance of continually nurturing my community. Always consider who is giving you that push. What are their intentions? Do they truly have your best interests at heart? It's crucial to exercise discernment. #selfstarter #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #smallbusiness #socialwork #roundtheclocktalk #communication #MentalHealthMatters #SupportSystem #HereForYou #jennalyn #fyp #childcare #specialneeds #youngadulthood

Friday Freedom.... and 🌞🏖️ Summer Holidays are Here! 🏖️🌞... ...at least for children in the UK! Can you imagine the kind of freedom they are feeling? Jumping for joy... running around with lots of smiles...super happy that the school year is over and they have six weeks or so to play and not have to think about school work? For many, summer means embracing a carefree spirit and finding joy in lots of things...little things as well as bigger things. 🍉🍦 It’s a time to explore new places, try exciting activities, and let adventurous natures shine. Some children may be lucky enough to go away on holiday with their family... others will be doing local activities... perhaps summer camps that mum or dad have booked them into or single events, going to the part etc. For students who’ve had a year of hard work – this is a time to unwind, read the books they love, pursue hobbies, and nourish mind and soul. ✨ Sadly... there will be some children and young people whose home environments will be stressful... or who will feel much more challenged and not know how to get through those weeks without seeing their friends on a regular basis. Thankfully, for families facing hardship who don’t have the funds to pay for extra childcare, there are summer camps that many local authorities pay for. 😀 I know this only too well, because I used to manage after-school and holiday camps that included and catered for children of such families. If you are facing financial difficulty and don't know how you're going to manage childcare over the holidays...it’s worth inquiring with your local council what's available to you. Let's also remember that not all activities have to cost in monetary terms. The more activities that can be done without financial expenditure, the more children learn the value of what can be done without having to buy things! 🙏🏻 For children and young people who could do with a creative outlet for dealing with anxiety and low confidence... I will be running a few art and mentoring workshops. Keep a look out for these... details coming up very soon! #summerfun #healthandwellbeing #artandcraft #childrensmentalhealth energizemecoaching.com

As the school term comes to a close and we step into the whirlwind of school holidays, I wanted to share a few simple ways to balance work and school holidays 👇👇 1️⃣ Delegate and Share Responsibilities Don't hesitate to ask for help from family, friends, or your partner. Sharing childcare duties can give you some breathing room. 2️⃣ Set Boundaries Establish dedicated work hours and family time. Communicate these boundaries to your family and colleagues to ensure you have focused work time and quality family time. 3️⃣ Plan Fun Activities Schedule family activities in advance so everyone has something to look forward to during the holidays. Create lasting memories together. 4️⃣ Schedule "Me Time" Remember to take short breaks for self-care, whether it's a quiet moment with a book or a walk in nature. Recharge so you can give your best to both work and family. And remember FLEXIBILITY IS KEY! Balance may not always mean an equal split. Some days you might need to focus more on work, while others, your family will need your attention. 💪 Embrace the challenge and beautiful chaos of school holidays and make them memorable🌻 #workingparents #workingfamilies #schoolholidays #worklifeintegration

This surely is a better approach instead of shortening summer holidays in the UK. "Perhaps a better alternative would be to keep the summer holidays the length they are...and instead seriously consider how we can better support working parents, single parents, or disadvantaged families. For example, in Sweden, parents can apply for income-linked summer camps, where children can try fishing, drama and sports, as well as helping out with chores including cooking and cleaning..." a good read.
Why shortening the school summer holidays helps no one
