I just spent some fantastic days in Macao for business. I and Marcus Skinnar learned a lot from locals, Japanese, Korean, American, Chinese, and Nordic friends; truly global with high ambitions. Many thanks to all of you for the amazing days and dinners! The focus has been on sculptures, everlasting art, and how to make the world more beautiful. Hope to be back soon Macau, the former Portuguese colony, has evolved from its traditional image as a gaming and tourism hub. Its strategic location in Asia, robust infrastructure, and unique cultural blend make it an potential destination for international business, particularly for Nordic companies looking to expand globally. * In 2023, Macau's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was approximately USD 51 billion. * The region boasted one of the highest GDP per capita globally, around $80,000 USD, reflecting its small population and high revenue from gaming and tourism. * Gaming revenue alone accounted for about 50% of Macau's GDP, indicating the sector's significant impact on the economy. * The gaming industry, the backbone of Macau's economy, generated profits exceeding $36 billion USD annually, showcasing the sector's immense size and profitability. * The MICE sector, though smaller, showed consistent growth, contributing significantly to the diversification of the economy. For Nordic companies, these figures suggest both the opportunities and the challenges in tapping into this market, emphasizing the need for strategic planning and understanding of local dynamics. Week 10 of 10. We have marked our 10th Anniversary in Hong Kong with a series of projects completed throughout the decade. We wish to thank our clients for their trust in us, our collaborators in delivering each of these projects with us and our people for their passion and dedication. Without whom we could have not done the work we do. There are many other projects that were not included but which are just as important to our journey. Our post pandemic world is without doubt different. Perception is reality. The forced adoption of digital tools and technology has enabled seamless teamwork across continents allowing us to work with our expanded #Okana family.   I have reflected on the here and now and the continuing slowdown in growth in the country’s economy. As China struggles to work out what to do with an oversupply of built assets and the distress caused to the investment market, alongside a shrinking and aging demography. From retail malls to residential towers and commercial office buildings. Location, location, location continues to be a factor in a place’s socioeconomic success from the micro level to macro level. People’s choices are informed by the quality of the environment, opportunities, community, safety and lifestyles available. Having binge watched how less than 1% of humanity lives through one of Netflix’s window on the world series 'Buying Los Angles', certain places thrive because of these factors. Placemaking and the associated quality of life. As cities continue to attract people due to the access to opportunities and services, they continually evolve to improve the perceived quality of life. However, they become overcrowded and subsequently fail. Resulting in no go areas and ghettos. The rebirth of places rests with its leaders. communities and creatives to recognize the onset of decay, listen to the people’s needs and define solutions that will support sustainable reuse, repurposing and regrowth. As stated previously I am unsure how the Northern Metropolis being promoted in Hong Kong embodies a futuristic vision for a new district, I do wonder whether it will just be more of the same, missing the once in a century opportunity to reposition Honk Kong as Asia's most attractive and livable city. With this people’s choices are eased.   The needs of people are in many ways consistent; however, they do change as we age and journey through life. We all recognize one day that life is short, we need to ensure we can all enjoy the gift of life equitably.

The improved conference facilities will enable our clients to host business meetings and conferences. The Terminal Redevelopment Project also addresses the need for increased storage spaces to manage and store essential supplies and resources. The expanded area will accommodate upgraded amenities that will elevate the overall experience of our valuable clients. 3. Improved Efficiency: A larger terminal will lead to smoother operations and improved efficiency in handling aircraft and passengers. This will result in quicker turnarounds for aircraft, reducing downtime and increasing revenue for business aviation users and Hong Kong's overall economy. 4. Attraction of More Traffic: A well-equipped and spacious FBO terminal will attract more business from both private and commercial aviation customers. In turn, this enables us to create stability and security for our growing team and the businesses we serve. 5. Hong Kong's amazing neighbourhood - Shenzhen & More Many Hong Kong residents remember the old days when travelling to the mainland was a hassle and service quantity and quality was poor. This is no longer the case. While local businesses complain that residents are decanting across the boundary for weekends and holidays, this is an irresistable trend. The fact is Shenzhen - the immediate neighbourhood - has a lot to offer nowadays - and not just price. After all, Shenzhen is nearly twice as big as Hong Kong in size and has more than double the population - there is a lot of variety of increasing service quality there. The mainland - especially the immediate neighbourhood, is pushing Hong Kong to innovate - standing still is not an option. Hong Kong has to improve on both price and quality. Across many places in East and Southeast Asia such as Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, and various cities in mainland China like Guangzhou and Hangzhou, June 10 marks the much-anticipated Tuen Ng or Dragon Boat Festival, a vibrant celebration rooted in tradition and teamwork. Originating over 2,000 years ago in China, this festival is said to commemorate the life and death of the poet and minister Qu Yuan, who drowned himself in protest against corruption. Communities come together to race dragon boats, a practice that symbolizes unity, strength, and the communal spirit. The synchronized paddling of the dragon boat teams highlights the importance of coordination and collaboration, values deeply embedded in the culture and philosophy of the festival. The principles celebrated during the Dragon Boat Festival are remarkably applicable to the world of business. Much like the rowing teams that must work in perfect harmony to propel their boats forward, successful businesses rely on the cohesive effort of their teams to achieve their goals. Although not as famous or iconic as the Star Ferry in Hong Kong, the ferries across the Huangpu in Shanghai are certainly an important link in the city used by tens of thousands daily as a way to cross the river by bike, scooter or foot. On top of that the Shanghai bike and pedestrian ferries are perhaps one of the cheapest attractions in the city at only CNY2.80 / USD0.38... Although there are many of them, perhaps the one with the most iconic views is the one that leaves from the corner of the Bund and Fuxing Road.
