Very accurate historical assessment of slavery and the holocaust. We are programmed to understand things in a very linear and binary way and this limits a greater understanding of all things. Critical thinking is a polymathic approach to the world and yourself. If we want to evolve we must release the teachings of the Roman Empire aka Hegemony and cultivate a polymathic mind.

As a manager and leader, I try to share with my team a weekly summary of what we did well, where we can improve and what should we be looking forward to. I do this because it helps us end the week thoughtfully. This week had a different tone, sharing with you: "This week is supposed to be a holiday week for me, where I celebrate the freedom from slavery and exile that my people experienced years and years ago. Instead of celebrating it I’ve been facing all week quite the opposite. Going to work and seeing protesters raising signs saying “no jews allowed” or “wipe them out” takes a toll on you. My family survived the holocaust, they fled danger and built what is our home to make sure never again is a reality. What is happening in NY is exactly the same images I’ve seen in the history books. It breaks my heart that in less than 100 years we’ve learned nothing. This happens when back home my family is on the front lines, fighting to bring everyone home and to live safely. The last 203 days have been traumatic to say the least. As much as work is a distraction, dealing with this takes a lot of me. Why am I telling you this? Because from day 1 I told this team - humans first. So this is me being a human and letting you know it’s ok to sometimes not be ok. My ask? I’m not the only jewish person in TM. Please offer your empathy and check in with your co-workers. We’re all hurting." Leaders are humans too. Ideology, a system of beliefs and ideals, especially one which forms the basis of economic or political policy, exists at the intersection between power and individual choice. We have the freedom to learn about those different from us, to communicate with them and to resist belief systems based on supremacy, dehumanization and domination of “the other” those different from us. While humanity is hundreds of thousands of years old it is only since humans developed agriculture and civilization that gave some humans power over other humans ~8000 years ago that we humans have been plaged by violent divisions and ideologies based on supremacy, domination and exploitation. As we can clearly see today, the existential threat we have created through supremacist ideology were and continue to be a self destructive choice. Fortunately each of us, every individual is capable of educating ourselves to understand that supremacist ideologies are social constructs fueled by greed, manufactured and maintained though supremacist hate focused language and action. We are now faced with a choice between embracing our common humanity and sharing the world so we can all survive or to continue embracing greed and supremacist domination right over the precipice into extinction. Communication and cooperation are generally seen as two elements that marked humanity evolutionary journey. Three million years ago. In 2024 de-evolution is shifting humans towards social annihilation and rational obliteration. Today there are 120 armed conflicts around the world involving 60 states and 120 non-state armed groups. Are we doomed? Or is there a way out? What about if we embark on a revolution? A Revolution of Peace that rises from the ground and like a tsunami submerges every single quark of fear, envy, jealousy, animosity, greed, blind obedience, political persuasion, self assured hubris and ideological hatred towards each other. The current human de-evolution process has started and is in the hands of four main forces, the war mongers, their brain washed zombie-like supporters, the war merchants and the media moguls. There’s another force: 7.5 billion people who want peace ( as in the absence of conflict) who don’t want to bury their children and loved ones, who don’t want to live in bunkers and don’t want to be buried under aerial attacks. How do we build peace? We stop looking at the past. It is absolutely impossible to move forward towards peace by focusing on what your ancestors did to my ancestors in the past. The war hallucinogens are poisoning millions of people who are fuelling the 120 world wide war conflicts by blindingly siding with one side or the other without even considering the possibility of giving peace a chance. “To make peace, courage is needed, much more than to make war. It takes courage to say yes to meeting and no to conflict; yes to dialogue and no to violence; yes to negotiation and no to hostility; yes to respecting agreements and no to provocations; yes to sincerity and no to duplicity. All this takes courage, great strength of spirit.” Pope Francis 2022

"I think our world is full of unprecedented challenges, and this comes with an emotional backlash, because in the face of high speed change, many people wish to slow down, and when there's too much unfamiliarity, people long for the familiar. And when things get too confusing, many people crave simplicity. This is a very dangerous crossroads, because it's exactly where the demagogue enters into the picture. The demagogue understands how collective sentiments work and how he - it's usually a he - can benefit from them. He tells us that we all belong in our tribes, and he tells us that we will be safer if surrounded by sameness. Demagogues come in all shapes and all sizes. This could be the eccentric leader of a marginal political party somewhere in Europe, or an Islamic imam extremist preaching dogma and hatred, or it could be a white supremacist nazi-admiring orator somewhere else. All these figures at first glance - they seem disconnected. But I think they feed each other, and they need each other. And all around the world, when we look at how demagogues talk and how they inspire movements, I think they have one unmistakable quality in common: they strongly, strongly dislike plurality. They cannot deal with multiplicity. Adorno used to say: "Intolerance of ambiguity is the sign of an authoritarian personality."
