This is what patient educational and support materials look like today. What would it be like to have these materials personalized for the patient, tackling what matters at the current moment of the patient's journey, available anywhere and at any time? We've found the answer and built a solution that allows patients to access such information with 1 click, leaving the stacks of paper aside. #patientsupport #patienteducation #patientadherence #digitalhealth

With a view toward providing a holistic patient-centric medication management system, pharmacy leaders at Torrance Memorial Medical Center chose an interoperability solution that exchanges information directly between the EHR system and the Omnicell XT Automated Dispensing System. They wanted to avoid creating new practice bottlenecks and sought to simplify medication retrieval and administration workflow to allow nurses to focus on the patient, not the technology. 👀Exciting news! Two hospitals - the Royal Preston and Chorley and South Ribble Hospital - have introduced Omnicell’s Medimat #RoboticDispensingSolution. These dual systems with automated picking arms, make the process even more efficient.🤖 While some may worry about potential job losses in the pharmacy sector, the hospital chiefs have assured that these robots will allow the hospitals' 220 pharmacists to have more time to focus on patient care, improving the quality of care provided. 🏥Plus, the automated system also helps to reduce waste by automatically selecting the shortest-dated products first. Talk about a win-win! 🙌 What do you think about this new technology in the healthcare industry? https://okt.to/wPSlrp

Continuing the LEAN in Healthcare conversations - Was walking a new facility construction project this week with a client and talking about workflows, the good, the bad and how to optimize. This organization has a strong culture of Quality which everyone in healthcare could appreciate. Within the pharmacy department, came a discussion of their paper documentation process for product verification. Pharmacists need to initial between 7 to 10 spots on a compounding record. Does have 7 - 10 spots for someone to initial on one form increase the quality? Probably not, but does create "initial fatigue" similar to alarms fatigue in the ICU. If we think about what LEAN teaches us about focusing work upon improving quality and eliminate waste, maybe some form revisions would help focus the department's work.

From the software system to the delivery device shared by Sumant Ramachandra, M.D., Ph.D., we should never underestimate the impact we have on the patient. At #cencora, each dollar we help our customers save, each minute we give them back, is a minute of hope we give a patient in need. #productdevelopment#innnovation#ourwhy#pharmacyforward#patientcentricity
When our personal lives intersect with our professional lives…That is what happened when I visited my father in the ICU recently. The picture of three infusion devices tells a story of challenges that my R&D Team faced in a previous company and a triumph in developing a very reliable device and software system that years later was at my Dad’s bedside. In addition, several of the intravenous medications were also developed by the teams I had the privilege of leading. I felt that my father was in safe hands because I knew the amazing professionals who developed these products. My greatest appreciation of being in healthcare is that I start with a genuine passion for the lives I can impact in the small things I do…For that life is a loved one to someone, somewhere and could even be my loved one. Rohit Vishnoi - Thank you for leading the Team that made this happen. #DoTheRightThing #MakeAnImmPACT #Healthcare

Can you believe that we have advanced medical technology in so many areas, but IV line management is often still stuck in the past? The last widespread innovations are days of the week stickers and pre printed labels. It's time to bring it into the 21st century. With IV Manager, we tackle the overlooked but critical issue of IV line disorganization to improve both nurse workflow and patient safety. Let's not settle for 'good enough' when excellent is within reach. #nursinginnovation #patientcare
