Great move by African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) and the donors. This is indeed a huge step towards quality life for the indigenous conservationists in the region.

Over 1,250 households, schools, and clinics in Mbire District, Zimbabwe, now have access to clean, reliable water, thanks to the African Wildlife Foundation. Through the installation of solar-powered piped water schemes in Masoka, Kamufungu, Hambe, and Madzomba, this project marks a huge step forward for community health, education, and livelihoods. Funded by Sida, Danish International Development Agency, and private donors as part of the “Utariri - Integrated and Adaptive Biodiversity, Climate and Livelihoods Project” in the Zambezi Valley, the impact of this initiative extends far beyond water access. With clean water readily available, families experience improved health, schools see better attendance (especially for girls), and clinics are empowered to offer more effective care. This project highlights the critical intersection of #conservation, #sustainability, and human well-being. By leveraging #solarenergy to tackle water scarcity, we are improving lives and building a more resilient future for both people and nature in the Zambezi Valley.
