"Peer-to-Peer is a Human Right" - watch this short and brilliant vid from Natalie Smolenski to learn something important for all of us.
Goodness and Happiness "..is created bottom up - not top down"
"we actualize our own potential by doing things together " [#P2P]
EMPOWERING HUMANITY
This eloquent speech is helpful if you are struggling to understand the societal value of #bitcoin and #blockchain/DLT tech for humanity as a whole, especially in the face of a lot of conflicted narratives regarding energy consumption and criminality.
With #bitcoin up about ~150% in only a year - excess emphasis today is on the investment returns Vs the community empowerment potential of P2P technology.
"communicating & transacting without a third party in the model is not an anomaly, it's not suspicious and it's certainly not a crime"
"new tech .. is allowing third parties to get in the middle of EVERY message and EVERY penny "
Someone needs to remind the #ECB, #BoE, and #Fed that citizens are innocent until proven guilty. They should not seek to control everyone and have access to all private activity without reasonable suspicion of guilt.
CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS [to bitcoin]
While the founding fathers of the America could not have envisaged the Orwellian possibilities of current technologies - they were very prescient in the Fourth Amendment in the rights to privately and freely transact without a "unreasonable searches and seizures" unless with "probable cause".
This changed in the 70's as US Congress passed laws for #banks - that one forfeits the right to privacy when using a #bank.
These rights are now commonly subservient to goal of preventing crime - which is not a universal truth.. but merely what the State - run currently by short-term corrupted/incompetent politicians - 'deems prohibited'.
Experimental vaccine debates/rejection, Gaza / Palestine peace matches, carbon footprints, eating meat, farming your land, driving you car, wearing a headscarf, criticism of politicians, independent journalism, publicly telling the truth - all can be prohibited if 'deemed' necessary
"A society with no crime, is a fully totalitarian society" it would also be a poorer society, with no capitalism, no wealth creation.
"...Any liberal society will always have an element of crime... that is the cost of human freedom..."
This also applies internationally. you cannot completely restrict your enemies without punitively restricting yourself.
"We are living in a period of fashionable authoritarianism everywhere"
"they believe they have the right to police speech and economic activity for the greater good"
Transacting peer-to-peer is a fundamental aspect to human freedom and commerce.
Goodness and Happiness "..is created bottom up - not top down"
"we actualize our own potential by doing things together "
