A very powerful message and one that most definitely needs to be shared.
The lead up to Christmas is a busy time for lots of organisations. Certainly is at SGN, winter is our busiest time of year, particularly over the festive period when our front line colleagues work so hard, providing the heat we all rely on. But who looks after the people who are keeping us all safe and warm? I found this #mentalhealth video from Tarmac particularly impactful. Let’s make sure that all we look out for each other. https://lnkd.in/eVG5Q9Rk

Listen in on this podcast to learn more about our culture/team at Averitt!
One of the cool things I get to do is talk about our amazing team culture and how we give back in so many ways. Being blessed with good customers allows us to bless others. Click on the below and see how we’ve set the bar for employee giving to our awesome partner, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. #AverittCaresForKids

Sharing a useful infographic on best practices of becoming a health literate organization. What are you hearing about the reading level? It used to be 6th grade but I have talked to a few organizations that are using 3rd grade.
Family Voices presented on the best practices and the importance of becoming a health literate organization to five demonstration sites across the country as part of the Enhancing Systems of Care for Children with Medical Complexity initiative. Thank you to AcademyHealth and our other project partners for the success of this presentation! Check out what they learned: https://lnkd.in/epbyVGqw

Lawyer | Partner | Life Sciences | Pharmaceutical and medical devices law | Medical law | Reimbursement and market access law
Among great moments&adventures of the last 10 days, involving attendance at Vienna MedTech Europe Forum as well as speaking at ophthalmological, gynaecological and medical conferences on many interesting topics, I also experienced near-miss deadly accident and am lucky to be alive. A few thoughts: - long hours spent on life-saving courses may save your life and help saving others; do it, practice it, renew your competences on regular basis - before engaging in any life-saving action, make sure you are safe; look right, left and - up! (this last one is tricky) - think before do - in emergencies, never yield to social pressure and other people emotions Stay safe and look for your close ones! Enjoy life and care for it, for it is much more fragile than it seems to be...

Fantastic post and thanks for sharing your thoughts Larry Sitka! With AI providing pathbreaking insights into healthcare, a new era is dawning, and we're ready for the journey! 🌟 #RSNA #FutureOfRadiology #AIInHealthcare
My 30 years of RSNA. Good Saturday afternoon everyone. Next Saturday at this time we'll be sniffing the fumes of the forklifts and feel the cold breeze of the windy city Chicago. I decided to continue with a tradition and post thoughts from past, present and future of my 29 prior years of RSNA attendance. I missed a few since 1988 but what a ride and most what a future we have. As a patient I wont satisfy for business as usual from the vendors. I know some of my bosses (Dr. Michael McQuade, Jim Jundt, Jim Litterer, Dr. Mohamed Shoura, and yes my wife Karen) would really like to fire me for my obsessive pursuit of wellness on behalf of us all. Why because we are ALL patients. Take the vendor hats off!

Suggestion: Go to Mayo Clinic in Phoenix and get their full body evaluation. It takes a couple of days but well worth it. Mayo found a couple of health maintenance items on me that I didn't know I had until they found them. Mayo is not big on prescription meds so you don't worry about them pushing pills on you. Follow their advice to get another 70+ spins around the sun. I'm only 71 and want to get in another 30+ spins around the sun. Also suggest the U.S. Army daily life plan. Three items: (1) Sleep - 8 hours, (2) Activity - physical/mental exercise, (3) balanced-wholesome nutrition. Get to Mayo for a in-depth physical check of your systems. You will be glad you did. Stay healthy and well. Your family needs you.
What do you make of it when you wake up and you can’t see straight, walk straight, or talk straight? I found out in the ER of St George hospital at 8:00am yesterday when I had a stroke. My wife and I were taking a few days off to enjoy some runs and celebrate our tenth anniversary. But God had different plans. When you’re in great shape but have a stroke at 29 years old, the hospital staff comes out to see you. Every test under the sun. 10/10 do not recommend. By night time, I was feeling better and could stand up, so I tackled 15 mins of squats and lunges, just to say I did. The streak continues at 914 days and counting. So thankful for the crazy support and encouragement from my wife and family, from you, and the in-person visit from Garret Brent and Alexa Brent this morning. Just got out and headed to the airport to catch a flight home. Can’t wait to hug my kids. Recovery will be a weeks-long process, but I’m with it. And so thankful. God is good!

Incredible moment at CHCW yesterday, as the PCBH team finished out a record breaking month regarding number of visits and handoffs. In total, the team set all-time records by completing 1,422 visits and 530 same-day/warm-handoffs. These visits and handoffs aren't meet & greets, rather, they are radical moments that gather a patient's context and provide a contextually-relevant and compassionate intervention that ripples out beyond the humans in the visit. As we discuss regularly in emails and team meetings, numbers and metrics are cool to discuss and breaking records produces "warm & fuzzy" moments. And, metrics/records are never and will never be the goal. Instead, they are reflections of our program's infinite values. This isn’t about visits, this is about moments; this isn’t about finances, this is about healing; this isn’t about records, this is about love; this isn’t about individuals, this is about an incredible, talented, and unrelenting team and community. And... still... we crushed our all-time records!!! Pumped to see what the rest of the year produces!!!
