Part 3 series findings include meetings held with medical billers and causal research. We've learned practices have ~$900 unreimbursed / non-monetized costs, per maternal patient.    ➡️ Concerned and high-risk patients demand more time. Are definied the steps to face in case of #patients asking for a 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗠𝗣𝗥)? The need to further investigate the topic led to the constitution of a working group devoted to discussion through an #interdisciplinary approach, involving Emma Capulli, Silvia Ceruti, 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶, Davide Battisti, Cesare Garberi, 𝗙𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗼 𝗚𝗵𝗲𝘇𝘇𝗶, 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶 and Picozzi Mario. The purpose of their work is to present the #legal and #ethical issues addressed through the analysis of: ➡ the literature on the subject; ➡ #legislation, #doctrine and #caselaw related to the 𝗳𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲; ➡ the ethical issues raised by the request and implementation of that procedure. Although, under certain conditions, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲 can be sustained, the authors argue that there is a need for #clarification with regard to the 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 and 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, as well as for the development of #guidelines to assist #health #professionals. https://lnkd.in/g6d8eJ-5

Dedicated fetal skeletal survey sonogram! As a Radiologist delivering maternal and fetal care with precision is the key. Today I came across a 30year old patient who had a bad obstetric history with previous 2 abortions. In this third pregnancy she came for level 2 scan and I found the fetus had an isolated short left femur of length <2 percentile with bowing of mid diaphysis. No metaphyseal flaring or fracture was seen. Mineralization was normal. Rest of the bones were completely normal. I performed a dedicated skeletal survey sonogram and gave the diagnosis as proximal focal femoral deficiency. (PFFD). Yes I explained the mother but it was her precious pregnancy and I could see her eyes filled with grief and gratitude.
