Advantis™ adhesion promoters limit or remove materials of concern, allowing formulators and end users to deliver dependable results while improving product sustainability and meeting regulatory requirements. Given the regulatory changes coming to the European Union (EU) later this year, this proves especially important and has been confirmed by trends in the industry. “With materials like cumene being recategorized as carcinogens, formulators have two choices — continue to use these materials with their new hazardous labeling, or switch to solutions that limit or remove these materials. Eastman’s Advantis adhesion promoters offer a simple alternative to help our customers remain compliant without the need for reformulation,” said Tom Klug, segment market manager for Eastman’s automotive coatings business. The world-leading dairy equipment company milkrite | InterPuls, Methuen Park, UK is now using Ultrason® P 3010 to manufacture housings of milk meter sensors used for checking the milking results of cows, sheep and goats. The BASF polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) contributes to the durability of the sensor because of its high toughness and chemical resistance: Thus the milk meters can withstand the rough farm environment as well as the repeated cleaning of the milk meters. The transparent Ultrason® grade supports easy visual checking of the milk flowing through the metering device and in the long run does not show any discoloration. It also meets milkrite | InterPuls’s strict requirements regarding food contact approval. Milk meter sensors are used to control the volume and quality of the milk still within the milking process. The milk can be weighed and its conductivity can be measured. milkrite | InterPuls selected Ultrason® P because farmers can easily see through the transparent material to check the milk’s appearance. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) P.J.S.C. (“ADNOC”) is excited to confirm that, following initial exploratory discussions, it has entered into formal negotiations with OMV AG (“OMV”), about the potential creation of a new combined petrochemicals holding entity, through the proposed merger of their respective existing shareholdings in Borouge plc (“Borouge”) and Borealis AG (“Borealis”). Borouge is listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (“ADX”) with 54% owned by ADNOC, 36% by Borealis, and 10% held by retail and institutional investors. Borealis is owned 75% by OMV with ADNOC holding 25%. ADNOC is undertaking these negotiations as majority shareholder of Borouge, and OMV as majority shareholder in Borealis, with any final decision subject to Borouge’s, and other relevant parties’, governance processes. The potential merger would mark the next transformative milestone in ADNOC’s ongoing value creation and chemicals growth strategy, with any transaction subject to customary regulatory clearances.
