Despite this, our research suggests that Black-owned brands encounter outsized challenges to scaling and being able to meet this demand. 🍺 INSEAD connection in #NYC Jordane ROLLIN, Managing Director, Head of Trade & Working Capital, Americas Standard Chartered I had a wonderful opportunity to catch up with Jordane ROLLIN, an INSEAD Alum, and learn about dicerse characteristics for financial markets across North America and Asia. Other than The fact that North American markets significantly larger volumes, they are also highly interconnected and responsive to events (financial or non financial) could have swift cascading effect . In comparison, while the fundamentals of Asian markets remain the same, there are a few pockets where interventions are needed, also transaction volume as compared to North American counterpart still leaves room to grow. Both have their pros and cons, yet it was good to learn about a new perspective. Many thanks to Jordane ROLLIN for taking time out. Due to bad weather we had to take refuge at an exquisite setting of Pret A Manger. I am glad that Pret - representing health revolution - has now replaced McDonald's as a prime food spot. Few years ago when i lived in #NYC, total number of Mcdonalds were more than that of Taco Bell Burger King and other fast food chains all together. Last week, Walmart and Sam’s Club associates from all over the world gathered here in Bentonville, AR for Associate’s Week. The spirit and energy that this annual event breathes into our collective hearts as Walmart and Sam’s Club associates cannot be overstated. It is invigorating to have so many people here in our relatively small city at the heart of Walmart, USA. It’s a richly diverse gathering, not just in terms of cultures and countries represented, but also in diversity of career journeys, life experience, educational backgrounds, and so much more. This was the first year I was able to attend the Associate Celebration that wraps up the week. I saw incredible entertainment (Lizzo, anyone??). I also heard from Paris Hilton and Robert Downy, Jr. about their products available at Walmart. I enjoyed the lighthearted antics of host Peyton Manning, hearing leaders from different parts of the company talk about our future, and seeing the unique things happening at various stores around the world. What was most impactful to me though, was the message from CEO Doug McMillon as he recognized three amazing associates for their dedication and the difference they make every day. He spoke about the impact of consistent effort towards achieving goals, the importance of celebrating wins and success, and the inspiration to be found in moving targets. I really needed that message. I’m personally coming out of the most difficult year of my professional life to date. That idea of “moving targets”, for whatever reason, really clicked and resonated with me. We have been experiencing a lot of change recently in Walmart Global Tech, some of it unprecedented for many of us. It’s been a challenge to stay optimistic and seek out success in times of uncertainty. It’s so easy to lose sight of positivity when things are happening around us that we can’t control. But there are always things we can control, even in the midst of the unknown. Through that lens, moving targets are a really positive thing - an opportunity for a different way of working, a chance to discover a spark of creativity, a moment to foster new ideas. Change can stifle us with fear, or motivate us towards evolution. The rest of this year, I will be working on the latter. Here’s to an incredible remainder of FY25 at Walmart. I look forward to what the future holds! #WMT2024

Woohoo Walmart! We made Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work for List, and what I'm most proud of are the details of why. In essence, our people make the difference.   This isn't just a tagline, it is the truth. As the article states, with the size of Walmart it can be hard to have a consistently positive work environment. So how did we make the list and have over 70% of associates say it is it a great workplace?   We did it through our frontline associates caring about customers and each other, our frontline managers being servant leaders, using our scale to do the right thing as far as skills and career opportunities, and focusing on serving our associates, customers, and community. #TeamWalmart Side Note: I LOVE the picture the article uses because Associate to Driver is still one of my favorite programs we offer!

Here you go, folks! A perfect example of succession planning... Publix has promoted President Kevin Murphy to be the company’s next CEO, effective Jan. 1, the Florida-based supermarket chain announced Friday. Murphy will replace current CEO Todd Jones, who is slated to become Publix’s executive chairman. Senior Vice President John Goff is moving up to replace Murphy as president, and Chairman of the Board Ed Crenshaw will assume the role of chairman emeritus. Some news organizations are referring to this as a "shake-up." ❓ ❓ Why? Because you can't *sensationalize* a planned succession? Shake up: ~ unexpected ~ scramble ~ pressure None of those words define this orderly movement of people already deeply engaged with the organization.
