Received this photo from a mate. The Growing With Gratitude book has a home at the Jakarta International Airport. A cool yet, surreal kind of feeling to have it available to travellers internationally. I also wanted to share what I've found to be some benefits of having a book published. Here's a reflection: Builds Credibility: A published book lends credibility not only to GWG as an organisation but also to the programs we run. Educators, parents, and schools leaders are more likely to trust and adopt programs backed by someone who has demonstrated their expertise through writing. Wider Reach: A book allows us to extend our reach beyond the schools we directly work with. It can be used as a resource in classrooms, libraries, and homes, helping to spread valuable strategies for wellbeing to a broader audience. Sustainable Impact: Unlike workshops that are time-bound, a book is a lasting resource that individuals can refer back to whenever they need. This ensures that the positive impact of the wellbeing programs can be sustained over time, with the book serving as a continuous source of support and guidance. Networking Opportunities: Publishing a book opens up new networking opportunities with professionals in education and related fields. It can lead to invitations to speak at conferences, participate in panels, and collaborate on projects, further enhancing the impact of the wellbeing programs we run. Personal Fulfilment: Writing a book is not just a professional milestone; it's also a deeply personal achievement. #SharingInsights - Outside-In : Inside-Out Innovation In the last month, I’ve had the opportunity to visit and work with two international schools in Asia – both of which are embracing an exciting approach to innovation in Wellbeing Education. Both Bangkok Patana School and British School Jakarta are demonstrating a really mature balance of what we might call outside-in and inside-out innovation strategies. The outside-in approach is where a school or organisation intentionally brings outside ideas into their community to potentiate growth, expand perspectives, and challenge existing thinking. But that’s only half of the story...We all appreciate how ineffective it can be – sometimes – to just import a program into a school without it being embedded into existing culture.   And so Bangkok Patana School and British School Jakarta both have an openly articulated inside-out approach too.   Whilst they hungrily consume ideas from the outside, they then intentionally and strategically digest these ideas internally. They incubate them.   And what emerges from the harmonising of outside-in and inside-out, is an evolved version of the original idea.   In this case - Wellbeing Education.   To borrow the words of Patana’s Head of School, Chris Sammons, through this process, “we surface an approach for our community that is shared, deep, and coherent.”   Pretty cool. ##wellbeingeducation #wellbeingtactics #positiveeducation #teacherwellbeing The Wellbeing Distillery

We are taking it really slow today. I have had a massive 2 weeks and I am feeling it. This weekend is all about rest and nourishment, some decluttering and organising before I head to Bali on Monday... I need to be ready for Bali. It's not a holiday. It's a space to write book #2. It's an opportunity to put my thoughts down on paper about how we are going to revolutionise education so teacher wellbeing is the core of decision making and school culture. I have some big, bold, new ideas that will push boundaries and break away from the 'but this is how we have always done it' thinking. Cambodia. ❓How do you build a learning path for each person in the team/committee during a capacity-sharing session? ❓How do you know the quality and quantity of learning of each person? ❓What feedbacking mechanisms can be employed? 👉Today, the capacity-sharing with Team Cambodia systematically reviewed the values, principles, processes and tools for the community-led issues identification, prioritization, and analyses as well as community-led planning for change -- the very foundation of #CoLMEAL work. 🤔🧐 After re-experiencing these steps, the team reviewed the actual map of change and the action plan of 1 community. 🕺😁 I feel so happy and proud hearing each member of the team discussing confidently about the strengths and weaknesses of the map of change and action plan -- and what could be done about it. It was so different from yesterday's message from the team. 🥂After having the team ended strongly today, I felt that they are ready for tomorrow's next sessions.
