Analysis also points to opportunities in the Catering and Training spheres. A more competitive environment would enhance service levels and provide better options for airlines and passengers. The Aviation Sector strategy has a strong focus on improving the competitiveness of local players in these service areas and raising the overall standards of service. Another week, another destination. This time, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia… Our CEO Lynsey W. and Director of Aviation Strategy Mark Clarkson recently had the opportunity to attend the Future Aviation Forum in #Riyadh and were back again last week, this time to visit senior stakeholders responsible for some of the new projects coming online in the Kingdom. It is not just the scale and ambition that is striking. With the revised 2030 visitor target of 150 million per year and the trending growth in scheduled airline seat capacity, the Kingdom is well on the way to achieving the Vision 2030 targets. With the Farnborough Airshow coming up in less than two weeks, could we see more firm announcements on aircraft deliveries or leasing agreements to further accelerate the growth plans? #CairnConsulting #Saudia #RiyadhAir #KingSalmanInternational #Vision2030 #Aviation #Airports #Travel #AviationIndustry #MiddleEast #AviationNews #AirportDevelopment Credit to Future Aviation Forum for the image.

With the clock ticking, and #SaudiArabia's ambitious #Vision2030 target of achieving 300 million passengers passing through its airports by 2030 getting ever closer, John Grant considers whether the kingdom is on track to meet its airborne targets in his recent AGBI - Arabian Gulf Business Insight update. Saudi passenger volumes were around 107m in 2023, which included a record-busting 64m international passengers, a 37% jump from 2022, and domestic traffic was also up by 17%. Still, no major established aviation market has ever delivered over 20% growth per annum over such a timescale. Will the Saudi government see that as more of a challenge than a deterrent? https://lnkd.in/em6EW8YT

Collectively, the ten largest airlines in the Middle East already have a combined order book of 795 aircraft to be delivered by the end of 2029 (see chart attached); on a regional market basis it is one of the largest order books in existence. These new aircraft should lead to around 107 million additional seats in the market by 2029, and although around 16 million of these will be supplied by Saudi Arabia-based carriers, this degree of competition from competing airlines (with their own new capacity) will add a further degree of complexity to the market conditions, not just for Riyadh Air and Saudia, but for the ambition of Vision 2030. How will Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 - a target of 300 million passengers by 2030 - balance ambition with reality? Find out in the final part of our three-part series focusing on the Middle East aviation market. https://hubs.li/Q02FNCN70 #MiddleEast #MiddleEastTourism #Aviation

Saudi Arabia unveils plans for new airports, aligning with its Vision 2030 strategy. Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), envisions the kingdom as the Middle East's aviation hub. The comprehensive plan entails upgrading airports, airlines, aircraft, and logistics services, aiming to enhance air connectivity to 250+ destinations worldwide. With a goal to attract $100 billion in investments and a staggering 330 million travelers, the kingdom sets its sights on a transformative journey. Notably, Saudi Arabia emphasizes sustainable growth, with only 10% of the targeted 330 million passengers expected to be transit travelers. Al-Duailej underscores the kingdom's vision to serve as a global logistics platform, linking three continents and propelling air freight capacity from 0.8 million to 4.5 million tonnes by 2030. As Saudi Arabia aims to redefine the aviation landscape, fostering integrated growth and attracting global stakeholders, one wonders: How might this strategic leap impact the global aviation ecosystem? #SaudiArabia #Aviation #vision2030
