Kudos to Sander Schulhoff from Learn Prompting and other co-authors from OpenAI & Microsoft! 👉 It starts of with clearly explaining the concept and then providing structured understanding by creating a taxonomy of prompting techniques, analyzing their use, and presenting a comprehensive vocabulary of 33 terms. 👉 It also explores 58 text-only prompting techniques and 40 techniques for other modalities, providing a meta-analysis of the entire literature on natural language prefix-prompting. I'm also going through it and jotting down notes. It's a fantastic report; definitely a must-read if you want to become proficient in prompt engineering. I've been playing around with You.com that lets me use OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini (Google) pro models within a single chat, with no usage limitations. ✅ Claude is best for summarizing and writting text, but doesnt' have any context. It's great for analysing, writting, and summarizing long text. ✅ GPT 4 is great for summarizing but I don't like its writting. I also use it to return HTML version of text. I was impressed when it returned a Google Sheet formula that I didn't ask for but solved my problem. ✅ Gemini, to me, is the best: great context, summarization, returns formulas, code. I don't use AI to write text for me. I only use it to summarize it, structure it, making it more succint and clear. For people who outsource 100% writing, GPT 4 looks better, but I don't think any model is good enough for that. You must provide context.

An important perspective to understand about the #Google #Gemini announcements ⟶ Gemini Nano-1 and 2 are powerful models optimised for running on devices. (Thanks for sharing Andrew Jardine.) This matters for #AI for education because you notice the ambitious broader scope when you zoom to an ecosystem level. Gemini is not just another model update, it is framed as a new “era” and Demis Hassabis refers to a “universal” approach. A whole new series of models plugging into a wide range of products and experiences. I see the PR play here in terms of capability emphasis in the face of OpenAI’s market lead (if that is a thing?), but it is also worth taking stock of the breadth of the ecosystem Google has: 🤔 ChatGPT Monthly active users in October 2023: 1.7 billion. Three quarters of all smartphones in the world run Android 🤯 Every month: 1 billion users access Google Docs 🤯 1.5 billion users access GMail 🤯 2 billion users access Google Drive 🤯 Pause for a moment and imagine the scale of interactions, behaviour nudges, data flows, information shifts and opportunities for learning.
