The Olympics gets an AI touch The Paris #Olympics2024 is showcasing impressive advancements in AI. - Intel Corporation has introduced a chatbot on the IOC’s Athlete365 portal, offering athletes easy access to venue information, guidelines, and rules. - Google is collaborating with the U.S. team and broadcasters to enhance their coverage with AI tools. - Alibaba Group uses AI-powered 3D modeling to boost sports analysis across 21 disciplines. AI also helps generate automated highlights, improve officiating accuracy, and analyze athlete performance in sports like gymnastics, athletics, and rowing. Despite the benefits, there are concerns about AI-driven surveillance for detecting suspicious activities. I get asked a lot about Ai and what's the point. Thinking behind it typically comes from the standard ask simple questions get simple results that have become very common place with Ai when installed in a business environment maybe not quite ready to maximize it. This is a great example of how Ai can be used for so much more than just writing a clever email, or adding this and that. It's clear that Paris 2024 is becoming a powerful example of how technology will alter sporting events forever. This does not just apply to the main events. Digital transformation will improve attendants' experiences 24/7, with Intel's "AI everywhere" programme aiming to improve on-site experiences with AI-driven technology. Likewise, during the events, Intel hopes AI can be used to monitor athletes with greater precision and improve judging.
