Back in 2007, Andrea Aker had no idea her one-woman show would evolve into one of the Valley's leading PR and marketing agencies.
Now, we're turning 17, which means we can finally:
🎬 Watch R-rated movies
🚗 Drive past curfew (legally!)
🎢 Ride all of the roller coasters
But most importantly, we’re still here to help businesses discover and realize their potential with a mix of creativity and strategy.
Because no matter the hurdle, we get it. 😉

No One Cares Who You Are
.
“This is Patrick Carr, President of Blue Collar Media Group, here in Orlando, Florida, I wanted to jump on here today…”
Blah blah blah…you’ve already been passed up. Forget the intro statement move immediately into what you would say after. Ad value. THEN let them know your competency statement (ie why you’re an authority in this space).
Stop introducing yourself and immediately add value.

Is there really no such thing as bad publicity? 📸
Using controversy to boost his circus’s visibility, P.T. Barnum certainly thought so.
Stirring up a media frenzy with one of the world’s first PR stunts, Barnum once swapped out oxen for an elephant to plough his six-acre field in Connecticut, USA. Newspapers reported glowing accounts of the stunt which in turn successfully advertised the circus.
But in today’s world, does this strategy hold up? 🎪
Our latest blog explores the upsides and downsides of controversial press.

🏈 Key Takeaways from Super Bowl LVII Ads: Mastering Effective Communication
Super Bowl 2024 showcased a plethora of ads, each vying for viewers' attention and leaving a lasting impact. Amidst the star-studded lineups and creative concepts, several key communication strategies emerged:
1️⃣ Storytelling Sells:
Ads like Cetaphil's #GameTimeGlow and Google Pixel's 'Javier in Frame' leveraged storytelling to engage audiences emotionally. By weaving narratives that resonate with viewers and evoke strong emotions, brands can forge deeper connections and make their message more memorable.
2️⃣ Nostalgia Strikes a Chord:
Volkswagen’s tribute to its 75-year legacy and Uber Eats’ star-studded reunion tapped into nostalgia, evoking fond memories and creating positive associations. Incorporating nostalgic elements can resonate with audiences and amplify brand affinity.
3️⃣ Humor Captivates:
Ads like CeraVe's "Michael CeraVe" and Hellmann's "Mayo Cat" demonstrated the power of humor in advertising, eliciting laughter and leaving a lasting impression. Effective use of humor can break through the clutter, entertain audiences, and significantly boost brand recall.
4️⃣ Effective Celebrity Endorsements:
Verizon’s ad featuring Beyoncé demonstrated the power of celebrity endorsements when aligned with the brand message. Celebrities can amplify brand visibility and credibility, but it's crucial to ensure relevance and authenticity to resonate with the target market.
5️⃣ Know Your Audience:
Paramount+ showcased the power of understanding their diverse audience in their Super Bowl ad, "Sir Patrick Stewart Throws A Hail Arnold." By featuring characters from various shows and genres, Paramount+ effectively appealed to a wide range of viewers, highlighting the importance of catering to diverse audience interests in effective communication.

Better late than never...
I know I'm a little late with this post, but I came across an interesting article from CBS News that ranks the best and worst ads of Super Bowl 2024 according to the Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
In case you missed these ads live (like myself), the article is a great read for a recap of the advertising highlights and fumbles during the big game. 🏈

In reading this article and looking at these ads, I asked myself - What makes a TV ad truly great? Well, here are a few insights that caught my attention:
1️⃣ Storytelling: The ability to weave a compelling narrative in a short span is pure art. The best ads resonate emotionally and leave a lasting impact.
2️⃣ Creativity: Innovation and creativity are the heart of memorable ads. Whether it's humor (my personal favourite), drama, or a heartwarming moment, creativity captivates the audience.
3️⃣ Relevance: Understanding your target audience is crucial. Ads that speak directly to the viewers and their values tend to leave a lasting impression.
4️⃣ Memorability: A great ad is one that sticks in your mind. Whether through a catchy jingle, a unique visual, or a powerful message, being memorable is key.
5️⃣ Call to Action: A successful TV ad inspires action. Whether it's making a purchase, visiting a website, or engaging on social media, a clear call to action drives results.
