The Spotted Cow Co. shop was back in action for 2023, and the results are in – we proudly raised over $6,500 for Tree Canada. With every purchase, customers not only added local artisanal pieces to their wardrobe, but they also played a part in creating a positive impact on the environment. Together, with Dairy Farmers of Canada, we’re planting trees with a goal to achieve #NetZeroby2050! 🌿 🐄 Dairy Farmers of Canada | Les Producteurs laitiers du Canada Tree Canada / Arbres Canada

The direct route can be just as scenic. ☕️ Blue Turaco Coffee is owned by Wycliffe, who has his own coffee farm. This never happens - smallholder farmers don’t own brands - so we’re proud of that. It means we can buy directly from our neighbouring smallholder farmers, cutting out up to five levels of middlemen in traditional coffee routes. And this means we can pay farmers 30% more for their high quality beans than typical routes. Blue Turaco’s mission is to bring 100% Specialty Ugandan Robusta to coffee drinkers in the UK for the first time. In so doing, we’re creating a model where coffee truly pays for coffee farmers and their communities. We can achieve more together - and faster. Now fundraising with £127,000 of our SEIS approved allowance remaining for 24 more days. Link to fundraising pack in comments. #coffee #fundraising #investment #seis #angelinvestors

On April 17th, part of Heza Washing Station was taken out by a major landslide. Surrounding communities were impacted as well, an estimated over 400 homes have been destroyed. When we built Heza, the government coffee board said we must be crazy that this site would act as a micro station. However, our team used our core value of Mwangaza and created a community-centered station that is thriving and producing some of the finest coffees in Africa. There are many players that feel the impact from devastation, and as a buyer, you might be curious about its implications for you or why it matters. Rest assured, our team quickly came up with a solution for cherry reception so we’re still receiving them at Heza. A landslide can definitely slow logistics temporarily, but we’re still operating as normal. The reality is that climate change is becoming more prevalent across coffee-growing nations every single year, directly impacting the coffee industry. Too little rain means insufficient water supply for tree growth, too much rain means landslides and floods that take out entire plantations and operations. We value providing quality coffee, and we’re certain you do as well. Your support can make a real difference in ensuring the sustainability of the coffee supply chain. By working together to innovate and adapt, farmers can grow and harvest the coffee that the world enjoys—and together, we can ensure a continued supply of exceptional coffee. Head to this link to donate to our fundraiser to help repair the damage from the landslide: —— #SpecialtyCoffee #GreenCoffee #CoffeeProducer #AfricanSpecialtyCoffee

It’s true: funding efforts to prevent TR4 and save bananas is a costly undertaking. That’s why we need to ask for donations from industry partners. But the cost of NOT saving bananas is far greater. The impact on food security and supply chain resilience could be enormous. We estimate that, by 2060, TR4 could cost the banana industry as much as $229 billion. But we can avoid that cost if we act now: by investing in TR4 prevention efforts and breeding pipelines for TR4-resistant bananas. If we can raise our target amount today, it should enable us to have enough impact to put bananas on a better path. That’s why donating to the Banana Action Group now is a smart investment in the future of banana businesses.
