Some Law Regarding the Cody Roberts incident ⚖️ As properly noted by Animal Wellness Action , there is nothing in the WY law exemption provision for a "predator" wolf that is applicable to the torment and torture of the wolf 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙘𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜. Roberts binding the wolf's mouth, his return home with it, and his ongoing torment and torture of the animal, both at his home and in the bar before shooting it dead, are not exempted by 6-3-1008 as they fall outside of the permissions granted for "hunting, capture, killing or destruction." The "not otherwise prohibited by law" language in the subsection (vii) language also provides a justification for prosecution for felony animal cruelty under state law. As cited above. tormenting and torture an animal is against the law in Wyoming under 6-3-1005(a)(ii). Therefore, his actions are ""otherwise prohibited by law,'' rendering the exemption inoperable. Under 6-3-1005(b), cruelty to animals, such as that committed by Roberts, is a felony crime punishable by imprisonment for not more than two (2) years, a fine of not more than five thousand dollars ($5,000.00), or both. Even just attending fights for the purpose of watching without betting, which used to be a key factor (motivation by gain or profit) or keeping dogs for fighting on behalf of someone else, are criminalized. The goal of this legal solution was to encompass and criminalize all activities that lead to the animal fight, so now even those who keep or feed animals for the organizers of animal fights, even if they do not directly participate in them, will not be invisible before the law. We especially wanted to protect all persons under the age of 18 from attending the fights, so allowing minors to attend and watch animal fights also became punishable. We also wanted to protect animals that are used in fighting, so they will not be able to remain in the possession of those who used them for fighting, and if the animal was stolen from its owner to be used in fighting, it will be returned to him. This horrific story painfully exemplifies why non-domestic species must be protected under anti-cruelty laws. First and foremost, because they are intelligent, sentient beings who should never have to endure this type of trauma and pain. But second, because the human psyche does a poorer job of drawing lines between “us” and “them” than we think, and when we tolerate violence toward any sentient creature, we are inviting more of it towards other humans and domestic species in our communities, and to the wider natural world. “It’s just an animal” thinking is never actually the case. When our laws allow for or even encourage mindsets of dominion and violence toward the “big bad” wild for the sake of individual human needs or enjoyment, we feed directly into a cycle of destruction that is literally killing the world and us with it.

A shocking case has emerged from Bennington, where an individual, Allan Washburn, allegedly confined animals in dangerous conditions. Two separate incidents involved a Siberian husky and later, a cat, reportedly locked in a car brimming with clutter and garbage. These allegations, if true, depict a distressing disregard for animal welfare. In detail, the husky, named Chad, was reportedly found in a vehicle filled with trash, under high temperatures, and without basic necessities like water. A similar fate befell a cat later, found in a similarly cluttered car. Such conditions could lead to severe distress or worse for any confined animal. This repeated behavior signals a disturbing pattern of neglect and a clear disregard for the welfare of these creatures. Given these alarming allegations, it is imperative to ensure justice and prevent further such incidents. The responsible individual must face appropriate legal consequences. Hence, demand strict legal action against Allan Washburn for his alleged repeated acts of animal cruelty. This will send a strong message against animal neglect and abuse.

What greeted rescuers wasn’t just a scene of squalor and deprivation, but a descent into the depths of depravity, where desperation allegedly drove cats to cannibalize one another for survival. The skeletal remains of countless others reportedly lined the path to this macabre tableau, each a silent accusation against the couple apparently responsible for this nightmare: Marvin and Cindy Frederick. Mounds of trash, emaciated bodies, and the gnawing hunger that allegedly forced animals to turn on each other – these are the hallmarks of the Fredericks’ reign of terror. Their allegedly callous disregard for life extended beyond the West Market Street home, with another property on Hollister Street harboring more victims in an RV converted into a chamber of suffering. The Fredericks’ actions were not borne of ignorance, but allegedly of willful neglect and depravity. They allegedly stripped these animals of their dignity, their sustenance, and ultimately, their lives. They deserve not a slap on the wrist, but the full weight of legal Konsequenzen for their unconscionable acts, if found guilty. Ensure that justice is served in this case. Do not let the cries of these allegedly tortured animals go unheard. Seek the maximum penalty allowable by law for Marvin and Cindy Frederick, sending a clear message that such barbarity will not be tolerated in Lackawanna County. A disturbing incident of animal cruelty occurred at Hau Tak Estate in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong. A 58-year-old woman was arrested by the Hong Kong police on suspicion of throwing a pigeon to its death at the public housing estate. The incident was reported by a concerned passer-by who witnessed the alleged act, prompting the police to respond swiftly. The cruel act of hurling a defenseless bird to its demise is not only a violation of ethical principles but also a criminal offense under the laws of Hong Kong. Animal cruelty is unacceptable and reflects a disregard for the well-being and dignity of living creatures. It is imperative that justice is served in this case, to send a strong message that such acts of animal cruelty will not be tolerated within our society. Jerry Lee Holly, the subject of a Washington Post investigation into his decades of animal misconduct, was fined $15,000 and ordered to give up all his animals” The move, experts say, should keep him from profiting from the exotic-animal trade or selling animals at exotic-animal auctions nationwide. In a settlement agreement made public in recent weeks, Holly agreed to relinquish his animals regulated under the federal Animal Welfare Act by February 2024. The agreement, which Holly signed on Nov. 22, immediately revoked his Class A Breeder’s license, an extreme measure USDA regulatory officials rarely take against violators. Officials also banished Holly and any “partnerships, firms, corporations or other legal entities” that he controls or is financially affiliated with from ever again obtaining an Animal Welfare Act license. More than 1,000 pages of public records obtained and reviewed by The Post from the decades before Holly’s zebras escaped showed that animal welfare officials frequently cited Holly’s poor and nearly nonexistent record keeping, a business practice that authorities said is consistent with illegal animal trafficking. Authorities repeatedly flagged discrepancies involving Holly’s permits, records obtained by The Post showed, including purchasing animals he was not licensed to have. The Post also found that for decades, Holly repeatedly failed to obtain all the permits required by local, state and federal agencies to breed, buy and sell wild and exotic animals in Maryland and Florida.
