Another round of weird feedback after a interview During an interview for a role that we've clearly advertised as hybrid (and the client has confirmed is hybrid), we received feedback that left us scratching our heads. The candidate, despite being highly relevant, was asked a question about moving back to a 5-day week in the office; the candidate expressed hesitation towards the idea as they have now been working in a hybrid role for more than 2 years. Now, here's the kicker – the client has embraced the hybrid working model and have no plans to revert to a rigid, five-day office schedule, so this is a strange question to ask at interview. The hiring manager decided that the candidate’s answer demonstrated a lack of passion and enthusiasm towards the company's vision and culture and ultimately, decided not to move forward with their application. What a very strange question to ask a candidate at interview, if they have no plans for 5 days in the office! If they do indeed have plans to revert to a five-day office schedule, it will be a significant challenge keeping all the new hires that have been hired on hybrid contracts!
