I’m doing a run today called “The Circle of Hell.” It’s a one mile loop as many times as you can in 3 hours from 2-5pm. It’s expected to be 111 degrees. Here’s the message the organizer sent last night: 'Twas the night before our journey thru hell, Not a desert rat was stirring, not a sin will be had, The sunscreen will be applied with meticulous care, In hopes that the heat miser soon will be there. The trail gangstaz are all nestled snug in their beds, While visions of scorching heat danced in their heads. With hats, sunglasses, and ice all ready to go, Be prepared for the journey, and plan to go slow. The Circle of Hell awaits you tomorrow, From 2 to 5 PM, a time of pure sorrow. By the Royal Order of the Desert Ratz, it was proclaimed, A test of endurance, where only the 3 bravest are named. When morning arrives with a bright, fiery blast, We know that our trial is starting at last. Out in the desert, under the merciless sun, Three hours of torment is about to begin. Around the circle, a mile to tread, With every step forward, we wish we were dead. The heat is relentless, the ground like a grill, A true Dantean circle, designed to kill. With the sun at its zenith, no shade to be found, We push on in circles, round and round. Through sweat and exhaustion, we follow the trail, Wondering if anyone will live to tell the tale. Goodnight! Go Get Some Sweet and Sweaty Dreams Ratz”

Thanks Alex. I was just feeling sorry for myself after being beaten down by a 3.5 mile run in the 85 degree Texas “heat”. This took my beat down to another level. 😀😀😀

Stay safe, stay hydrated. It's doable, but one wrong move, and it can turn lethal. Remembering Jessica Lindstrom last year, and the 10 year old who died earlier this week after hiking in the heat.

Look up Labor Pains in Reading, PA. Not nearly as hot, but it’s a 6-mile loop run as many times as possible over a 24-hour period. The one who runs the most miles wins

I saw a great meme that asked how hot it is in Arizona and the answer... Have you ever been cremated? Enjoy the burn brother, stay hydrated!

That's a normal day as a native arozona growing up here. Summer vacation of 3 months from school turned into "OK. My friend lives two blocks away. How can I get there before my feet melt?" Oh, and parents, they're working... so good luck!
