Here's a 2 minute clip where I explain more details on getting started running a syndicate on the VC10X Podcast w/Prashant Choubey. A few takeaways: - Running SPVs was a great way to scale deals with limited capital to deploy. - Working my network in the early days was a great way to get those first LPs to deploy into some of the deals I was doing. - There was a 1-2 year ramp up to build an LP base that could support multiple SPV deals - Meeting w/VC's was very valuable to 1) learn from them and 2) share deals their way to see more of the deals they were leading in return. - The first swing at putting together an SPV did not work. Don't give up. - It takes time but can be a great way to break into VC, build a portfolio, join a fund, raise a fund, and more! --- I do weekly deep dives on SPV/Syndicate topics within Venture Capital w/Zachary Ginsburg via Last Money In Media, the most actionable venture capital newsletter.
