Proud to feature some excellent research from SANTÉ, which was detailed last week by Michael Thrasher for Institutional Investor. In short, when it comes to venture, Santé found, rather conclusively, that bigger funds do not in fact outperform their smaller counterparts. There is in fact a target size venture fund. This is a bit counterintuitive, as we would often think that advantages like brand recognition, experience, and scale, which come with larger funds, would translate to better performance. As a follow up to the Cleveland Founder's Guide of Resources, I have created a list of VC's and funds in Cleveland with their thesis and relative fund size (where available) as well as investment stages. Note this will need updated with the recent funds, Sidecut Ventures and The O.H.I.O. Fund when thesis and size are publicly available.
