Since 1987, March has been designated "Women’s History Month” by presidential proclamation and is set aside to honor women’s contributions in American history, culture, and society.
Women have been involved in #aviation and have made significant contributions to the industry since the Wright Brothers’ first flight in 1903. But still, the industry remains predominately men. According to the Women in Aviation Advisory Board, women make up less than 20% of the workforce in most aviation occupations.
As for the #autonomous industry, The Federal Aviation Administration’s U.S. Civil Airmen Statistics report from January 2023 shows that women currently make up only 7.9% of all certified remote pilots (just under 25,000 total in the US).
In the tech industry, especially in #software development, women are scarce as well. The percentage of women in tech companies and the software development industry is approximately 25%.
AlarisPro would like to recognize all women and their amazing contributions this month, especially those on our team! We are proud to say that AlarisPro is currently made up of 50% women! That’s not bad for a tech company in the aviation industry! Our women team members hold positions in leadership, sales, marketing, and software development!
We are excited about the future and look forward to seeing the number of women in our industry grow over the years!
