I spent time this evening informing myself about #AI ethics and policies that have made the news. Thank you for compiling and categorizing this list, Casey Fiesler! This is a great resource for anyone wanting to learn more about the #ethics issues evolving around AI. #education #Sunday #k12
So the spreadsheet of AI ethics news isn't a research project and the categorization scheme has never been rigorous, but some obvious emergent categories finally bugged me enough that I did some re-mapping, especially out of the miscellaneous category. So the three new categories are Militarization, Sustainability, and Abuse. The last is essentially sexual abuse, e.g. nonconsensual intimate deepfakes and also child exploitation, some of which was previously categorized along with other deepfake stuff as Misinformation, which seemed... not great. Anyway, there you are! Though my typical reminder that these categories are absolutely flawed, as is my mapping. But hopefully this new information is useful for folks. https://lnkd.in/gq9RS4mu

Every new invention, discovery or innovation comes with its use and misuse. Technology can be used to either make clean electricity or wipe off an area from the face of earth. During my discussions at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and Indian Institute of Management Bangalore earlier this year the topic of AI ethics took the centerstage. As we venture further in the journey of developing various AI and generative AI products, nothing has been more important than dealing with the ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence. This categorisation is a great start and helps frame and model ethical aspects of AI. Of course no mapping like this which seeks to put the complex ethics of AI into little boxes is ever perfect. But still, I think that this re-focus will help us grapple better with these issues and also encourage wider conversations and actions within our communities. #AIEthics #AI #GenerativeAI #Productleadership #Techleadership

Context: In the realm of artificial intelligence, the question of ethics is a paramount concern. Just as human actions are guided by moral principles, the behavior of AI systems is also influenced by the ethical values instilled in them. We present five potential titles for a thought-provoking post that explores the intricate relationship between human ethics and AI ethics. Your opinion matters, so please help us choose the title that best encapsulates the idea. Poll Options: "Dual Faces of Ethics: Human and AI - The Symbiotic Connection" "The Moral Mirror: Human Ethics and AI's Reflection" "Ethics Unveiled: A Two-Sided Tale of Humanity and AI" "Ethical Compass: Navigating the Boundaries of Human and AI Ethics" "Two Sides of the Ethical Coin: Humans and AI in Harmony" @AIPeopleIns #ethicalai 😱 https://lnkd.in/e4Nee5Gm
