🌟 Inspired by Steve Gleason's incredible speech at the ESPY Awards using his AAC device! 🎤 --- Last week, my husband and I were deeply moved watching Steve Gleason deliver a powerful message at the ESPY Awards using his AAC device. Despite battling ALS, Steve's courage and resilience were evident as he eloquently articulated his thoughts with the help of innovative technology. Steve's speech about human potential, courage, and the strength found in vulnerability resonated with us both on a profound level. He reminds us that positive change is the result of compassionate collaboration among citizens of the world, which resonated deeply with us, emphasizing the strength found in unity and collective action. Steve's journey with ALS underscores the immense challenges individuals face, yet his determination to make his voice heard serves as an inspiration to us all. His use of AAC technology not only highlights its transformative power but also reinforces the importance of accessibility in communication. As someone deeply passionate about AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), this moment resonated profoundly with me. AAC innovation isn't just about technology; it's about empowering individuals to express themselves fully, regardless of physical challenges. It's about ensuring that everyone has a voice, a right to be heard, and the ability to communicate their thoughts, dreams, and aspirations. Steve Gleason's bravery in the face of adversity exemplifies the resilience of the human spirit and proves the limitless potential of AAC technology to break down barriers and foster inclusivity. Let's continue to champion accessibility and inclusivity through technology. Together, we can ensure that everyone's voice is heard loud and clear. 🌍💬 #AAC #Accessibility #Innovation #Empowerment #SteveGleason #ESPYAwards #Inspiration #Resilience #Inclusivity https://lnkd.in/gmpY6r94

Lieutenant and founder of True Bold LLC| FBI-LEEDA Certified, Organizational Leadership, Law Enforcement thought leader, Transformational Leadership, Leadership Mentor
Many of us say, "If I can just reach one person in the room" on the leadership journey. This has been an essential tool to encourage me to continue my journey. After branching out and taking the big step of being a podcast guest and sharing my unique view of leadership, I wondered if any of my teammates watched the podcast. I got my answer from a teammate who shared his thoughts on the podcast with me. After he left my office, it was clear I "reached one person" and inspired them. These types of interactions are essential in our leadership journey and can help us continue the journey. I hope this post helps another person BELIEVE they can "unearth the true boldness within!" #BELIEVE2024, #TrueBold #Leadership #Leadershipjourney #leedon

Sometimes it’s good to do something COMPLETELY new and terrifying! This platform is often used to highlight corporate wins (and don’t get me wrong, those are important). But I just want to take the time to highlight a very personal win for me. In spring last year, I was at a point in my life where I felt as if I was only existing as “half of myself”. Life felt a lot like a square box that I had been carefully building since I started studying in 2015. And I was honestly mostly showing the sides of myself I thought would be safe to show. So when X-factor contacted me to ask if I wanted to try it out, you can imagine that this was not the easiest yes in the world. It came with uncertainties and doubts that I had been carefully avoiding for many years. However, with help from loved ones, I managed to show up. And so far, I have learned so much! I have learned: 1: That the things we are the most scared to do, sometimes end up being the best experiences we will have. 2: That it is okay to have different sides AND to show them. 3: And finally, that being brave and passionate should be celebrated and encouraged. And you are allowed to feel proud of your accomplishments! From now on, I will try my best to bring all of this new knowledge to work! And also, have a look at my 6-chair challenge if you want 🎉
