Great to see this study from LSA Executive firm Allen & Overy, assessing the scale of the financing needed to deliver #NetZero, the role of public and private organisations in delivering the goals of the Paris Agreement, and the policy and other measures that can accelerate financial flows.

I'm proud of this collaboration between Climate Policy Initiative and Allen & Overy in which we quantified #netzero investment needs by sectors and regions over time. It's a massive opportunity ahead of us - nearly $7tn a year through 2050, including $3.2tn for low-carbon transport and $2.1tn for energy, with electric vehicles, solar, wind, building efficiency, and more all becoming multi-hundred billion- or even trillion-dollar industries. These are big numbers, but the benefits of acting now outweigh the costs of inaction and the investment, policy, and deployment trends all point to the transition happening sooner than we thought possible even a few years ago. We laid out all the details (including interactive data visualizations) in the link below, as well as recommendations for both public and private actors to accelerate #climatefinance at the scale needed to meet our 1.5C targets.
