Ever had one of those moments you wish you could do over? Several years ago, a colleague's father fell terminally ill. They had an unusually close relationship and I thought about writing his father a letter to express my admiration for his son's accomplishments and character — a message to bring some solace to a proud parent in his twilight days. But work and life got in the way, I put it off, and then it was too late. His dad passed, and my words went unsaid. And that regret has been hanging out in the back of my mind ever since. Fast forward to a few months ago. History threatened to repeat itself when I learned that the owner of one of our suppliers was on his deathbed. I thought about all the times this man's handshake meant more than any contract. This time, I didn't delay. I grabbed a pen and paper and told him about how much respect I had for him, how I admired his rock-solid integrity and how grateful I was for the 10-year partnership that helped grow our companies from the ground up. It felt good to get those words out. And maybe, just maybe, it gave him a bit of a boost at a time when he needed it most. So, what's the takeaway here? *Don't wait.* If someone's made a dent in your life, tell 'em. Whether they're a colleague, a mentor, or someone in business who always delivers more than he promises — let them know they've made their mark. It's something we all want and need to hear. And doing so might just offer a moment of joy in their final days, and peace in ours.

Great message Allen Baler. The concept of "words unsaid" is really powerful...and hopefully motivational! I believe in the concept of asymmetric upside, essentially a small effort on one person's part can have a big impact on another person. This life is so fragile and short that it pays to tell people how we feel about them.

So True, "Don't Wait". We get so wrapped up in the next Sale or the next deadline, it's easy to forget what a short ride this really is.
