Fume extraction torches have a bad reputation among welders, but they are actually one of the core element for safe welding. Many welders refuse to use them due to concerns about shielding gas, weight, and limited accessibility to the workpiece. 💡 However, modern fume extraction torches have addressed these issues. With new extraction torches, optimum shielding gas coverage is guaranteed, and the torches have been redesigned to be lighter and more manageable. Learn more about it via the link in the comments! ⬇ #welding #manufacturing #extraction #weldprof

Sharing my latest video regarding another welding process, this time regarding GMAW or MIG welding. I discussed here: - differences with SMAW and how this process addresses productivity - equipment used - different modes of transfer - welding electrodes Very useful concepts for preparing for the CWI exam! API 510 (3.1.8) Controlled-Deposition Welding (CDW) Any welding technique used to obtain controlled grain refinement and tempering of the underlying heat-affected zone in the base metal. Various controlled-deposition techniques, such as temper bead (tempering of the layer below the current bead being deposited) and half bead (requiring removal of one-half of the first layer), are included. Technology Leadership means possessing the strategic insight to develop comprehensive plans that leverage technology to achieve business objectives. Ficep would like to be in that position and happily listen to your plan. See below: “Action speaks for itself”.
Have you ever seen a beam drilling line doing this? Well…. Again a FICEP first!!! The biggest jumbo beam available on the market today being drilled and weld prepped both flanges . Don’t miss the milled rathole as well. Talk to us if you have any jumbo columns to prepare for splicing or base plate welding. No dress up required after milling and the welders love it.
