Many individuals within the LGBTQ+ community feel a sense of shame. I would be remiss if I didn’t openly express that I experience shame at times and it’s a constant internal dialogue that I must fight. All the more reason to remember why we celebrate Pride and why it is called Pride. The work that ERGs do within organizations is extremely important and is a huge part of cultural shifts. As we’ve come to the end of Pride Month, I’m filled with immense pride and gratitude. As a proud ally and advocate of the LGBTQIA+ community, I want to wish everyone a happy Pride as celebrations continue across the world in the coming weeks and months. It has been inspiring to witness so many of colleagues at Haleon come together over the last month to celebrate. Their efforts to promote awareness and foster a deeper understanding of the ongoing challenges faced by the community don’t go unnoticed. As a new business we’re very much at the beginning of our journey and there’s more for us to do, but we’re committed to nurturing an inclusive environment where every individual feels valued, understood, and treated equitably. My passion for the impact we can achieve, both collectively and individually, is unwavering. It requires continuous action and active allyship, which involves engaging in meaningful conversations, confronting biases, seeking knowledge, and celebrating our diverse viewpoints. I’m incredibly proud of all four of our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) dedicated to gender, ethnicity, LGBTQIA+ and disability. The members, in addition to their regular roles, go above and beyond to positively impact the lives of colleagues worldwide and contribute to empowering our employees and sparking further transformation. Let’s take a moment to celebrate and appreciate the strides we’ve made and the strides we will continue to make. Together, we stand in solidarity, not just during Pride Month but throughout the entire year. #Haleon #Pride
