We are grateful to Gulf Coast Mom for promoting our initiative and highlighting how we're taking measures to ensure exceptional care for mothers and babies! We understand the importance of addressing maternal healthcare challenges and improving early recognition of potential complications for safer outcomes after childbirth. That's why we've launched the 'I Gave Birth' Initiative, aimed at educating everyone—mothers, families, friends, providers, and the community—about the unique challenges women face in the first year post-delivery. Through this initiative, we provide new mothers with a simple yet impactful tool: the 'I Gave Birth' bracelet. This visual cue not only identifies recent childbirth but also prompts healthcare professionals to consider this factor in medical evaluations, expediting accurate diagnoses and treatments and fostering a safer maternal healthcare environment. To learn more about our initiative and the postpartum journey, please follow the link below. CEO @ Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital Jeddah | Transforming Healthcare Delivery | Forbes Top 50 Healthcare Leader
From a Premature Baby to a Hospital CEO: My Journey of Hope and Healing As the CEO of Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital, I find a deep personal connection with every premature baby we care for. I, too, was a premature baby. The journey from those fragile first moments to where I stand today fills me with immense pride, especially when I see the incredible work our teams do to save hundreds of premature lives every year. Each time I meet with the anxious family of a premature baby, it's not just a professional interaction; it's a moment of shared understanding, hope, and reassurance. Prematurity is more than a medical term; it's a life-altering reality for one in every ten babies born. It's a global public health issue spotlighted by the World Health Organization. These tiny fighters, born before 37 weeks of pregnancy, often face daunting health challenges, leaving their families grappling with emotional and medical complexities. On World Prematurity Day, we stand united in raising awareness and advocating for change. The stark reality is that survival rates for preterm babies vastly differ based on their birthplace. Today, we call for a global effort to bridge this gap, ensuring every premature baby, regardless of where they are born, receives the best possible healthcare. At Dr.Soliman Fakeeh Hospital Jeddah, our commitment to this cause is unwavering. With over 6000 deliveries annually, our NICU teams have been the guardians of countless premature lives, bringing hope and healing. We continually strive to offer cutting-edge treatment options, not just for our patients, but as a benchmark for healthcare providers everywhere. Let's honor our little heroes today. Their resilience, hope, and strength are awe-inspiring. A heartfelt thank you to our pediatric staff, whose dedication and care make a world of difference to these babies and their families. #PrematureBirthAwareness #HealthcareLeadership #NICUHeroes #WorldPrematurityDay #ResilientBabies #PatientAdvocacy #NewbornHealth #HospitalCare #MedicalExcellence #InspiringStories

November 17: World Prematurity Day Every year on November 17, World Prematurity Day raises awareness about the challenges faced by premature babies and their families worldwide. Prematurity, defined as birth before 37 weeks of pregnancy, can lead to various health complications for newborns. These challenges often require specialized medical care, posing emotional, financial, and physical strains on families. The global impact of prematurity on infant mortality rates and long-term health outcomes is significant. Access to quality healthcare, neonatal facilities, and supportive resources remains crucial in providing the best possible start for premature babies. Derbi Foundation recognizes the importance of addressing the needs of premature infants and their families. We stand in solidarity with healthcare professionals and organizations dedicated to supporting preterm births, advancing research, and advocating for better maternal and child health worldwide. On this important day, let's join hands to raise awareness, support families affected by prematurity, and promote initiatives that ensure better access to essential neonatal care. Together, we can strive for healthier outcomes for premature babies and improve their chances for a brighter future.
