❌❌❌ My takeaways from the iGB Live Amsterdam event that happened last week. 1. This event was hopping 2. Industry struggles with quality affiliate managers, no issues with quantity 3. Interest in data is growing 4. No, we don't have any drones Alex Pratt posted that they had nearly 2000 registrations the week leading up to the event. That means there was high FOMO and it was warranted. Best iGB Live event to date. 📙 We have a large number of new affiliate managers entering in the space and although this is great on the surface, it is a problem when they don't have experience or any real training beyond sales. I talked to 2 affiliate managers, that happened to be ones I'd call high quality, say they've taken the AMPP course by Affiverse and said it was worth it. Was nice to see Leanna Klyne but missed Lee-Ann Johnstone. We need more education in this space. 📊 This industry is slowly becoming data driven, emphasis on the slow part though. After DEEPCI.com was announced it was acquired this month by EveryMatrix, people's heads are turning to learn more about these new industry BI tools. 🙅♂️ We had one lady excited to take our business card, once she learned we did NOT have any drones available, she promptly handed it back. Maybe we need to have some drones in our marketing? #igblive23 #statsdrone #igaming

I agree with the comment about affiliate managers. A lot of enthusiastic people, however, it was quite frustrating to be constantly interrupted when I was talking to other people. It was like the binary days again. Although I don't completely blame them as I know some managers are setting aggressive targets for them.

Pity I wasn't there this year. We would have met and you would have still listed meeting 2 high quality affiliate managers 😁

This was a great event, and I met many amazing people. There are many fantastic affiliate managers that it is always a pleasure to work with. When it comes to new affiliate managers, there is a great need for training and how to deal with people. They really don't understand the business at all. Currently working with a program where they are outright lying and now non-responsive. The quality of their managers has reached an all-time low. Unfortunately, this is becoming a bigger issue in the industry. These new account managers need training and coaching that they clearly are not getting.

Some affiliate managers are genuinely unhinged. They must burn through so much time persistently going after non-affiliates.

Don't get me started on new affiliate managers. There is 100% room for improvement. 😞

Tell me more bro, I was hoping for something extra this time, great to rub shoulders with old colleagues in the iGaming Zone, but so many new faces, young, energised guys & dolls, already know everything there is to know :)

We need purple drones dropping purple shoes for us next time! Great quantities of everything indeed, and more than ever a matter of being selective with allocating our time and focus at the conference.
