Introducing the ASEAN Alliance on Carbon Markets (AACM)! We are thrilled to announce the ASEAN Alliance on Carbon Markets (AACM), one of the eight legacy programs launched during Indonesia's ASEAN-BAC Chairmanship in September 2023. One of the legacy projects was ASEAN Carbon Centre of Excellence (CCoE) that has created AACM. This alliance aims to promote scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets across ASEAN and to support implementation of compliance markets in the region. AACM will be the first private sector led body to advocate for cross-border efforts in the areas of carbon market development. AACM will foster a regional ecosystem and act as a focal point for international partnerships, with activities including capacity building and technical assistance. According to UNCTAD’s World Investment Report 2023, after a strong rebound in 2021, global FDI fell by 12% in 2022 to $1.3 trillion, due mainly to overlapping global crises. But flows to developing countries grew by 4% – albeit unevenly, with a few large emerging countries attracting most of the investment while flows to the least developed countries declined.
