Today, with Alexandra Jimenez Aguilar, we had the opportunity to attend a ted talk about, "Digital transformation and economical growth: Irland experience and the Peru's path towards a digital economy" given by the Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation, Dara Caellery. One of the main topics of the ted talk is about how in Irland there is a strategy called "Global Irland strategy" that ensures the growth of export markets. In that way Irland is orientated in building important alliances and focuses on working for a better position regarding international environments. For Peruvian economics we need to know that we have the opportunity to apply many of these strategies to grow as an economy, that is because we have MYPES in the majority of the economy, the same as Ireland had in the past. Also, the Minister mentioned that if we want to grow in digital transformation it's important to work together, as an education system and government patterns, and that means the investment needs to grow too. Surely, the All-Weather Strategic Partnership between Ethiopia and China brings vast opportunities to enhancing B2B exchanges between the two countries. It also provides a wider horizon of fruitful cooperation in BRICS system to which both countries are members. Glad to co-organize and be part of the productive meeting held yesterday in Addis Ababa, among the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association, the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), BRICS Women’s Business Alliance China Chapter and the Ethiopian Counterparts. Aiming at strengthening cooperation in areas of Women’s entrepreneurship and exchanges on Women’s Business engagements in BRICS System, the meeting brought together various government stakeholders, private businesses and Women’s Business Associations. There are yet ample opportunities to explore in creating community of a Shared Future through Women’s active participation in BRICS, important grouping of Emerging Economies.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and World Lin Chamber of Commerce President Tan Sri Dato’ Lim Soon Peng held a significant meeting at the Peace Palace on May 28, focusing on enhancing economic partnership and investment opportunities between the two countries. On November 24, 2024, ACMCD had the honor to attend the 1st Cameroon-Belgiun Economic Day, an event organized by its partner, the Cameroon Chamber of Commerce and Investment in Europe (CCIC). Key on the agenda was to brainstorm on how to facilitate trade between Cameroon, Belgium, and the EU, with emphasis on the high cost of transit, customs formalities, and regulations. Trade facilitation is in line with one of ACMCD’s missions of promoting Business development and entrepreneurship as a way of combating irregular migration. At ACMCD, we believe that Business development and Entrepreneurship are not just about profit making; it’s equally about achieving high levels of economic empowerment and developing a sense of ownership and dignity in individuals in their host communities. As individuals acquire economically feasible opportunities, it will first inhibit their incentive to migrate irregularly. Secondly, it will make them stakeholders in their futures, and enhance their participation in the economic development of their societies.  We call on our audience to join us in the fight against irregular migration by supporting ACMCD’s Business Development and Entrepreneurship missions in their respective domain of competence.

Enhancing U.S.-Tanzania Economic Relations I am pleased to share that the Tanzanian American Chamber of Commerce (TACC) recently had the honor of meeting with the Honorable Dr. Selemani Jafo (second from the left), the recently appointed Minister for Industry and Trade for the United Republic of Tanzania, and Dr. Hashil Abdallah (far right), Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. This meeting occurred last week at the Embassy of Tanzania in Washington D.C. In this significant meeting, we discussed key initiatives crucial for fostering economic growth and collaboration between our two nations: -Trade and Investment Facilitation: Trade Mission, Market Research, Bilateral Investments, Leveraging AGOA. -Capacity Building: Training on Export Readiness, Workforce Development, Education Partnerships, Research Based Infrastructure Initiatives. -Policy Advocacy: Engaging Policymakers on Trade & Investment Policies, Addressing Regulatory Barriers. -Networking and Collaboration: Develop Strategic Partnerships and Alliances between U.S. and Tanzanian Businesses. I was joined with my fellow Board Member Ronda Pierce, MSc who shared the progress on the newly established Tanzanian Trade Office in Dallas, TX that is managed by TACC. This office will serve as a vital hub for connecting businesses and facilitating trade between Tanzania and the United States.
