While designer interventions to make us look and feel younger grow exponentially in the market, exercise is easily arguably one of the single most important things we can do for overall health and even the concept of biohacking. The strongest evidenced-based interventions for longevity lie in the power of exercise and caloric restriction. In addition to those benefits, There may be as much as a 50% reduction in risk of cancer and a 60% decrease risk in Alzheimer’s from 30 minutes of exercise five times a week. This same amount decreases risk of cardiovascular deaths by as much as 25%. There is no single drug that can achieve these effects, and certainly not with such an absence of side effects. If exercise holds the key, than natural substances that mimic exercise could be a boon to improving overall health and even biohacking. The President’s Award is bestowed to a person who has dedicated a number of years to the World Naturopathic Federation (WNF) and has contributed substantially to a WNF project or activity. The recipient has demonstrated strong leadership and commitment to the global naturopathic profession. Dr. Fitzpatrick was the AANP's representative to the World Naturopathic Federation for 8 years, where she served on the WNF's board of directors and as co-chair of its Environmental Health Committee.
