To put this recent, Billion Dollar Deal in context, Courvoisier sells a bit over a million cases in total, globally, every year. Johnnie Walker Scotch Whisky alone, sells over 22 million cases anually, in total. I've not done the research, for all the OTHER Scotch Whisky brands that massively outsell Courvoisier but just off the top of my head I know it's: Rather a lot. Chivas Regal, Ballantine's, Dewars, Black and White, White Horse, etc etc. Then, there's all the Malt Whiskies. What does this value the entire Scotch Whisky Industry at? #ScotchWhiskyTruths

one of the ways to make Cognac become more interesting as a category is to release some single-casks, full-proof, additive-free versions of the stuff. and if these casks can be vintage-dated (more difficult & costly), even better. Cognac is a fantastic brandy. Less and less people drink it. The main brands sell the narrative associated with said brand's image, they happen to be bottling Cognac. The consumer is not a Cognac customer but a brand loyalist. A quick look at some of those labels illustrate the mindset as the word "Cognac" is buried below the brand's name, in tiny font. Cognac is (too) steeped in tradition to appear cool and exciting in a world where the drinker has tens/hundreds of new shinny options of whisk(e)y/r(h)um/tequila/mezcal/etc...releases to purchase every month. PM Spirits convinced the Cognac house Frapin that represents the apex of artisanal cognac to let us select a cask and have it bottled as such. It is a first. And quite exciting. #cognac #singlecask #spiritsbusiness #spiritsindustry

🥃🌐 Unraveling the World of Scotch Whisky 🌐🥃 Scotch whisky, an iconic spirit renowned worldwide, holds within its amber depths a rich tapestry of history, craftsmanship, and tradition. 🏴 Let's embark on an educational journey to discover the essence of this captivating elixir. 👉 The Origins: Scotch whisky's story began centuries ago in the rugged hills and glens of Scotland. Distillers skillfully harnessed the country's natural resources - pure water, golden barley, and peat - to create a spirit that echoes the spirit of the land itself. 🌟 The Distillation Process: Scotch whisky undergoes a meticulous distillation process. Pot stills, tall and elegant, gently coax the alcohol vapors through the copper neck, refining the spirit's character and depth. This art of distillation yields the heart of the whisky - the "new make" spirit. 🥃 Maturation Magic: Whisky then embarks on a transformative journey, resting in oak casks for a minimum of three years. This maturation period gives birth to the whisky's complexity, as it interacts with the wood, drawing out flavors, and developing its signature taste. 📜 Scotch Classifications: Scotch whisky's classification is defined by its region and ingredients. From the peaty powerhouses of Islay to the fruity delights of Speyside, each region imparts its unique character. Single malt, single grain, blended malt, and blended whisky categories offer a diverse range of choices. 👃 The Art of Tasting: Appreciating Scotch whisky goes beyond a mere sip; it's an experience for the senses. The aroma, color, taste, and finish combine to tell a captivating story. Unlocking the nuances requires patience and an open mind. 🌐 A Global Phenomenon: Scotch whisky's allure transcends borders, captivating enthusiasts from all corners of the globe. It represents more than a drink; it embodies tradition, craftsmanship, and a sense of shared heritage. 🥃 Savor the Journey: As we delve into the world of Scotch whisky, let's savor every moment - from raising our glasses in celebration to exploring new expressions.
