I'm happy to share that I've just completed the first learning path in the Security track on AWS Skills Builder: AWS Shared Responsibility Model! This accomplishment marks the beginning of my journey towards achieving AWS Security Certification. Understanding the AWS Shared Responsibility Model has been eye-opening. It's fascinating to see how security responsibilities are divided between AWS and its customers, ensuring robust security at every layer. This knowledge is crucial for anyone looking to build secure and scalable applications in the cloud. So you wanna learn about Cloud Security? But you don't know where to start on your journey. So you decide to learn all three platforms at once to absorb all the knowledge that you can. I would advise against that when you're trying to learn more about the cloud. What we normally advise people is to pick one platform learn that well and from there move on to other ones as your job or client requirements need. Still not sure where to start though? For example, let's say you want to work at Walmart and they use Azure as their primary platform since Amazon owns Whole Foods they don't want to support it if they can help it. If Walmart is the company you are aiming for and the other firms you also want to work for use Azure then go down that route. Same as if they use GCP or AWS. Look at the Job descriptions of the companies that you want to work in and what exact niche you are aiming for and try to go and learn that platform and cloud fundamentals first before you aim for everything at once. Greetings everyone! I hope this afternoon finds you well. Although I must admit to being fashionably late in presenting this project. The exciting news I bring to you is the initiation of a blog , a space designed not only to showcase my completed projects but also to serve as a valuable resource for fellow professionals seeking insights into the ventures I've undertaken and also for myself. This latest project serves as a pivotal stepping stone in my continuous learning journey within the realm of cloud services focused on security. Completely focused on GuardDuty, it unfolds as a detailed, step-by-step exploration of how I've integrated GuardDuty into my infrastructure. What makes this cool is the opportunity it affords me to gain hands-on experience with GuardDuty, a service I encountered in my early years but never grappled the understanding of its purpose. I also leveraged many other services within this project as well like Amazon SNS, Amazon Security Hub, & Amazon EventBridge. Two things come to mind: - Records Information & Data Lifecycle Management (R ILM DLM) products have been in this space for 20+ years. I'm curious about how has AWS approached the problem (it's not just tech & data). - One of the nuances of Data Regulatory Compliance and legal retention is that any solution or approach should be 'just good enough'. Anything more is just producing information that the other side may find useful. With #MachineLearning will the solution be way more then, just good enough?
