Dear Colleagues, A recent study published in Medical Science Monitor presents a cost-effectiveness comparison between hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC-FO) and sorafenib for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients in China. Utilizing a Markov model, the study found that HAIC-FO improves survival and is a cost-effective first-line treatment, achieving an additional 0.41 quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) at an incremental cost of $9,720 per QALY gained. This analysis underscores the potential of HAIC-FO to optimize patient outcomes within the Chinese healthcare system.
