Sustainable Hospitality and Tourism | Helping hoteliers overcome time and budget barriers to sustainable hotel operations

Working in the cruise industry taught me so many lessons and attributes, like: grit, resilience, humility, and compassion. 3 things I know for sure are: ☝️Embrace every part of your journey and learn everything you can from it. 🙏 Be grateful for every opportunity, even if it doesn't make sense at the time. 💪 Most importantly, try to trust yourself and your path. Holding this VIP card brings back a flood of memories from my time working on cruise ships. Back then, I was unsure about my path in life, questioning my future and wondering where my journey would lead me. Little did I know that those experiences would play such a significant role in shaping the person I am today. The challenges, the triumphs, and the connections I made during that time have all contributed to my personal and professional growth today. To my fellow hotel professionals, especially those who may be feeling uncertain about their own journeys, I want to remind you that every experience, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, is a crucial part of your story. The skills you develop, the resilience you build, and the relationships you forge will all come together to create a unique and powerful narrative. As I look back on my time on the ships, I'm grateful for the lessons learned and the opportunities that arose from that chapter of my life. It's a testament to the fact that our paths may not always be clear, but every step we take brings us closer to our purpose. So, embrace the journey, even when it feels uncertain. Trust that your experiences are shaping you into the person you're meant to be. And never forget that your story, with all its twists and turns, is what makes you an invaluable asset to the industry you are in and beyond. This is my VIP card, what is yours? I'd love to hear your own stories of growth and self-discovery.

Wonderful post Amy Wald! Thank you for the inspiration! I would have to say VIP can also stand for Victory in Perseverance when it comes to staying the course and achieving a dream. I agree with you 100% that we are the sum of our experiences and that is what makes us unique and who we are. It begins within. 🙏 💗
