Many young people in the UK are feeling pressure to be ashamed of our heritage. However, I’ll show you how leaning into our tradition can be enriching. Not shameful. I call this ‘the UK’s worst kept secret’ 🤫 & by taking advantage of it, you’ll open yourself up to a world of new experiences. With the legacy of Empire recently taking a front seat for scrutiny, it’s easy to attach shame to all of our heritage. And, while these criticisms are needed we risk losing sight of what also makes Britain so Great. While the world loves us, no one is more critical of the Brits than the Brits! Revered as long time pioneers of culture, we’ve always been the focus of imitation as the world celebrates our rich cultural history. &, importantly… A culture epitomised by ‘The British Social Season’. You’ve likely never heard of it, but I bet you’ve keenly participated and enjoyed in its festivities. ❓ So, what exactly is the ‘British Social Season’?  ❓ And, how can it enrich your life & affirm your identity as a Brit? Defined by our glorious summers, our beloved island nation has leaned into an events calendar focused in our warmer months. The British Social Season, originally catering to the Social Elite, is now open to ALL. Through the medium of events, this unofficial calendar champions a true celebration of what it means to be British; 🎩 Tradition  🏆 Ambition  😁 and Enthusiasm (despite what the weather may have to say!) It’s my belief that these events provide transformative spaces for you to discover parts of our culture you’ve never considered. Helping you discover yourself in the process. If you want to celebrate the best of British heritage, discover new passions & meet friends for life, my task for you is as follows: ✖️ Read this carousel ✖️ Find something you’ve never done before ✖️ Get a group together & go experience Great Britain Criticism of the past to create a more equitable future is essential. But as a result, celebrating heritage you can be proud of shouldn’t then become a casualty.

Happy 4th of July, everyone! 🇺🇸 As a Brazilian immigrant, celebrating Independence Day in the U.S. is always special for me. This day symbolizes freedom, unity, and the incredible opportunities this country offers. Currently in the lively city of Las Vegas, I’ve been reflecting on how vibrant and diverse this place is. It’s a perfect example of the American spirit. Working in #marketing events, I often think about how holidays like the 4th of July bring people together. It’s all about creating moments that resonate with everyone. Here are a few ideas that come to mind: 1. Highlight Diversity: Let’s celebrate the different cultures that make up our nation. 2. Community Engagement: Hosting or sponsoring local events is a great way to connect with people. 3. Patriotic Promotions: Special deals and promotions can really capture the holiday spirit. 🗽This month, I celebrate my 10th anniversary in the US. I am now an American citizen, but a forever immigrant. Immigration is not an one-stop shop - most of the time, it's a painful journey. It's a process designed for you to give up, basically. I made it to citizenship, but not without scars. And 10 years later... 🤹♀️I still have a strong accent that gets stronger if I am mad. 🤹♀️I still mix up prepositions and learn a word or 2 every other day. 🤹♀️Passing through immigration at airports still gives me the chills. 🤹♀️I'm still mad that I gained my right to be here through marriage. 🤹♀️When applying for jobs, I still need to think if I am authorized to work here. 🤹♀️ I'm still surprised by (and thankful for) first-world privileges. Like air conditioning or well-maintained roads. 🤹♀️ I still question the imperial system vs metric. It doesn't make sense! 💪All that said, I am proud of being an immigrant. We are resilient people and it's part of who I am! I built a new career and life from scratch, in a different country, language and culture. I have a skillset with no match, and my perspective is unique. Cheers for that! #expatlife #immigrantstories

Hey Everyone! I'm seeing a few reactions on my comment to Abe's post. The comment I made was "... I added an anonymous MSForms survey link on my signature block where individuals (inside and outside the organization) can leave me feedback about their interaction with me. I'll also be adding it to meeting invites." I would love to know if you chose to implement this idea for yourself and how that's going. One area I've been pondering about is the aftercare support that may be needed if the feedback received is not so positive for individuals. It's definitely normal to sometimes internalize feedback.
