Major milestone in our expansion facility! We will soon be ready to increase our output from 400 to 2,000 biochar tons per year, and to 5,000 CO2 removal tons. Our new Tierra Prieta Kilns are already on site and only waiting for concrete to harden. We are pre-selling our 2024 carbon removal credits via Cloverly, for any inquiries please feel free to reach out. #biochar #carbonremoval #climateaction #carbon

The U.K. needs to keep a watchful eye on this, especially how their top 25% of Farmers adapt to using the Biochar to deliver climate adaption, carbon reduction, higher yields and food security. Frontier Agriculture well placed to monitor USDA approach. U.K. trial worth a look?
Minneapolis Leads in Biochar Innovation Minneapolis is set to become one of the first U.S. cities to invest in biochar, a versatile material that boosts plant growth, reduces stormwater runoff, and sequesters carbon. The city has allocated $700,000 to develop an industrial yard and acquire a BluSky Carbon pyrolyzer. This device converts organic material into biochar, which locks away carbon, potentially for centuries. #Biochar #Minneapolis #CarbonSequestration https://lnkd.in/e7gxcUJm

I am NOT available & will not be replying to LinkedIn messages. After +15yrs of sacrifice, I am doing things differently #biochar & #bioenergy.
Scaling #biochar I have seen lots of posts talking about the need to scale #biochar quickly to have any hope of #adaptation & addressing #climatechange & role of #cdr #carbon #markets. A factor of 3x increase a year is often cited. So I thought I would share a simple calculation applying the rule of 3 to our own efforts & growing #organically. Starting with one plant that can generate 1000 CDR credits a year & leveraging income derived to build 3 more of the same each year for each plant operating. Thus Year 1 has 1 plant, Year 2 has 4 plants, Year 3 has 16 plants etc By end of Year 6 you end up with 1024 plants with a capacity of +1 million tonnes of CO2 #drawdown By Year 11 you are at 1 gigatonne/year. Investor capital is optional, essentially all those waiting for a sure thing bet will have missed out....

The latest "State of Carbon Dioxide Removal" report highlights the urgent need to scale up efforts to capture and store carbon to meet our climate targets. One standout method in agriculture is biochar. Biochar provides a sustainable way to retain carbon stored in woody biomass, offering dual benefits for both farmers and the environment. It's a growing movement within agriculture that helps implement effective CDR strategies. What's going to make it go fast? Enhanced support and incentives that help farmers adopt biochar are key - the carbon is already there, but we need access to financing and support to create a scalable solution. For a deeper dive into the findings and the role of biochar in carbon storage, check out the full report - https://lnkd.in/eaGS3wYa. 🌱 Turning Waste into Green Solutions: Exploring Biochar from Microalgae 🌿 The Best Feedstock 🤔 : Agricultural waste comes in various forms, but when it comes to biochar production, certain types stand out. We're talking about waste materials that are rich in carbon and nutrients, making them ideal candidates for bioenergy production. But what if we told you there's an even better alternative? Microalgae are nature's powerhouse. They're fast-growing, nutrient-rich organisms that thrive in diverse environments, from freshwater to seawater. What sets them apart is their ability to continuously produce biomass, offering a sustainable and reliable feedstock for biochar production. The characteristics of algae-based biochar are truly remarkable. With its porous structure, aromaticity, and surface functional groups, algae-based biochar exhibits excellent adsorption and catalytic properties. By harnessing these properties, we can address various environmental challenges, from water purification to soil remediation. #JoinTheHyve to learn more about the wonders of microalgae, how we plan to leverage its power and why we choose to do so. 💚 🌍 Abdulaziz Bin Redha, Samsurin Welch, PhD, Eva Morales, Dr Harjit Singh, Larissa Nicholas, PhD, Ibrahim Al'Abri #Sustainability #Innovation #Biochar #Microalgae #CircularEconomy #ClimateAction #climatechange #soilregeneration #sustainableagriculture

Bamboo Charcoal & Biochar Below explains what charcoal, activated carbon & biochar are. The material used to make it is biomass from nature, and the current sustainable material is bamboo. However, making charcoal produces greenhouse gases which are clearly not carbon positive. Biochar is an alternative for soil improvement, not a solution for every soil condition. #biochar #fertilizer #biocharAndGHG #biocharAndCarboncapture #biocharAndCarbonpositive #biocharAndBamboo #bamboo_is_sustainable_biomass

This is where biochar comes into play. Made as a result of our process, #biochar is a powerful, eco-friendly substance. So, how can biochar be used? ▪️ For starters, it's fantastic for the #environment. ▪️Mix it into your garden soil to help plants grow stronger and healthier. ▪️Or use it to purify water. It's all about giving back to the #earth. At Eden Energy, we're committed to closing the loop. With biochar, we're not just talking about #zerowaste; we're living it. #EdenEnergy #Wastetoenergy #Poweredbywaste

Have you heard of biochar? It’s one of the most promising tools in our fight for a more sustainable world 🌍 Biochar is a carbon-rich material created by heating organic biomass in the absence of oxygen, a process known as pyrolysis. Is the most scalable Co2 negative technology and has incredible additional benefits for agriculture and environmental restoration. 🌱 Improve soil health 🌱 Improve water retention 🌱 Reducce nutrient losses Learn more on why biochar is gaining traction worldwide in the International Biochar Initiative: https://lnkd.in/dgqitPaz Let’s explore the power of biochar together and see how it can transform our approach to sustainability! #Biochar #Sustainability #ClimateAction #GreenTech #Pyrolysis #CarbonSink #CarbonOffset #Agriculture #VanMander

🧐Plastisphere is an ecosystem which colonizes, lives and evolves on plastic waste in the environment. Over a thousand different types of microorganisms (autotrophs, heterotrophs and symbionts) have been identified as being capable of populating plastics. These microorganisms are different from others in that they are capable of using plastic materials as a source of carbon for the development of their own biomass.
