Sharing some reflections on our Product Hunt launch experience Firstly, the Pythia World team wants to say huge thanks to the Product Hunt community for your support and engagement during our launch. Your enthusiasm and interest in our product kept us motivated and fueled our belief in what we are building. Now, about the launch. When we realised that our product was not featured despite our rock numbers, we reached out to the support team. Unfortunately, it took 15 hours for us to receive a response that did not provide any specific reasons for the removal – only a formal answer. All day we were guessing and trying to understand what was the reason. We still do. We also see that this problem turned out to be “normal” recently. Not only our team is left alone, not understanding what is going on. Some fellow hunters suggested that our removal has to do with change of rules and algorithms. Others guessed that the 4-month gap between our product and a previously launched one may have been a contributing factor. However, even today we see companies easily launching multiple products in a period less than even a month and get featured. Therefore, that cannot be the issue either. Given these experiences, we'd like to propose a few suggestions for the Product Hunt team's consideration: – Please consider sending notifications to product makers about significant changes in the guidelines. This would ensure that makers are informed and can make necessary adjustments to their plans. – We propose that rule updates not be applied 'effective immediately,' especially for products that have already scheduled launches. – We kindly request that the support team be more actively involved in explaining the reasons behind every decision of not featuring the product on the main page. Ignoring or muting support chat can be counterproductive, and transparent communication is key. Consider informing the launching team about the issues prior to their launch, so that they could adjust their strategy if needed. Product Hunt community, we value your thoughts on these suggestions.
