A great start to recognition and support for British IP Day led by the Alliance for IP. Chi Onwurah MP, Shadow Minister for IP gave a helpful speech recognising the universal relevance of IP to AI and the importance of effective IP application to AI technologies. Helpful recognition was given to the significance of the creative industries in both supporting and driving innovation for the benefit of the wider UK economy. I argued that trusted content ,created and published across the consumer and business magazine sector plays a key role in this.

As we face a turbulent day in British Politics, it has never been more important to note and to recognise British IP Day today. https://lnkd.in/eJ_zPdMe We are facing global challenges; but the truth remains that if the Government neglects to truly appreciate, back and develop the gold standard protections for copyright and related rights that the UK has traditionally been known for, we shall be diminishing recognition for creativity and investment. It is that creativity and investment which will deliver effective solutions to challenges ahead. Happy British IP Day!

Sunday 26th April is World Intellectual Property Day 2020. Although it is taking place as the world is facing such enormous challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic, the ingenuity and creativity being shown to us all as these challenges are faced only serves to reinforce the importance of stable global frameworks for recognition and investment in our future. This is vital for all involved in the creative and cultural industries as much as our wider economy.
