I tell all potential Heardians I interview, "this is one of my favorite parts of the job”, and I mean it whole heartedly. Often I find myself walking away from the call with a new nugget or new insight.
Things that I generally over-index on:
- Curiosity. Is this person probing me and asking me why we do what we do? Do they follow up when they hear something of interest? Are they curious about the role, the company, the business, the team?
- Introspection. A natural companion to curiosity. Does this person bring self-awareness when speaking about past experiences? Do they reflect holistically around the work that they're doing?
- Willingness to play ball. Does this person respond well to changes in perspectives, differences of opinion, and in general, is willing to "play ball" and talk through different assumptions and hypotheses?
If the above resonates with you — we are hiring!
