I recently worked on a fun Conversational design project - Seektron.AI!  The problem involved managing lost items across multiple buildings and floors on campus. The solution includes a centralized item database, a chatbot in the IU mobile app, and physical bots in each building to streamline the retrieval process of lost and found. With a great problem and a user-centric solution that Ruchitha G.K had, I collaborated with her to implement the conversation for the chatbot using Voiceflow. This collaboration provided me with an opportunity to enhance my technical capabilities, particularly in conversational design and VoiceFlow implementation. Delving into various features and functionality offered by VoiceFlow, this hands-on experience allowed me to better understand the technical aspects of designing conversational interfaces. What did I learn through this experience? 1. Incorporating empathy: It is important to ensure that the Assistant's responses are sensitive to users' emotions and needs because it leads to a more positive user experience by showing users that their feelings and needs are understood and valued. With the user research data, we were able to design conversational flows that felt more natural and less robotic feel. 2. Addressing Security Concerns: Addressing security concerns is paramount in building user trust, as it significantly enhances user engagement and fosters greater adoption of the platform. We did that by requesting user details before providing any information related to the item/location. 3. Considering user response scenarios: Designing an effective conversational assistant requires anticipating and accommodating a wide range of user responses to guide users back on track and prevent frustration. We thoughtfully considered the various ways users may respond to the Assistant, ensuring it can effectively handle diverse interactions and maintain a natural flow of conversation by implementing a “no match” function to handle errors. Hey! Hey! Just had an incredible experience with Appy Pie's AI Image Generator! For the first time, I used the platform for creating featured Image for my blog and I'm satisfied with the result I got. Because: Firstly, it was less time taking (just a few mins) I just had to share the idea of an Image that I wanted to generate as a prompt Didn't spend my time creating design and understanding elements of design and design principles. I'm no designer, I'm just a writer who wants to give his major focus to writing. All I did was write a prompt, and in minutes, I got an amazing image that would've taken me hours to design. (Zero design skills I have) Here's the prompt I used: "Create an engaging featured image for a blog post titled 'How Emotions Enhance Your Writing: Insights from My Chat with GPT.' The image should depict a person writing at a desk with a look of deep focus and passion, surrounded by icons or symbols representing various emotions (such as a heart for love, a lightbulb for inspiration, a question mark for curiosity, etc.). The background should be a blend of warm, inviting colors to evoke a sense of creativity and connection. Include subtle elements that suggest technology and AI, such as a computer screen or digital symbols, to tie in the theme of AI design tools and software development services." I got exactly what I envisioned: a deeply focused person, surrounded by symbols of emotions, with a warm and inviting background. Subtle tech elements tied the whole theme together perfectly. And challenge each other on different tasks / projects: 1️⃣ Software developer 🆚 non developer for building a web app 2️⃣ Designer 🆚 non designer using AI design tools for a redesign project 3️⃣ Copywriter 🆚 non copywriter using for re-writing a SaaS homepage 4️⃣ Book author 🆚 non book author for writing a sci-fi novel It's probably a good way to destroy any skepticism about LLMs being crap!
