Meet Mia, our new Compliance Administrator! Mia has joined the team on a 12-month internship while she takes a year out from her studies. Having already worked in our day-to-day operations this summer, Mia has hit the ground running in her new role and feels the experience will benefit her greatly when she returns to complete her BA in Global Development at the University of York. Commenting on her new position, Mia says: “Global development looks at creating sustainable futures for global problems … I like that Andusia has a positive impact on the environment, and that the role allows me to take on lots of responsibility.” Read more here:

Being in the business of waste exports often makes flying a necessity when visiting our customers and sites in Europe, but where possible our team always look for opportunities to cut down on carbon footprint. Take last week for example, where our director Mark Terrell spanned three Scandinavian cities by train to attend his scheduled meetings. After his last site visit, Mark also opted to ditch the train and instead embarked on an hour plus walk back to the airport to catch his flight home and catch up on some calls! The two-day trip was a great success overall, and we’d like to thank all of our hosts in Gothenburg, Malmo and Copenhagen for their kind hospitality. #RDF #Waste #EfW

What do tyres, red telephone boxes and robotic dogs have in common? RWM of course! Our team are fresh back from touring the halls at Birmingham NEC this week and it was great once again to touch base with fellow friends and colleagues at the UK’s premier show for waste and resource management. As ever, we’ll be following up on our conversations and leads as we continue to press ahead with meeting demand for RDF and moving waste to where it needs to go! #RDF #EfW #RWM #Waste

If you plan to attend RWM in Birmingham next week, why not give us a shout? Four of our team will be at the show – directors Steve Burton, Mark Terrell and Chris May together with commercial assistant Paige Dawson – and we’d love to meet up and talk all things waste! While we don’t have a stand, we will be touring the halls and checking out the latest industry developments and launches. The main highlight though is catching up with our valued customers, and making some great new contacts. We hope to see you there! #RDF #Waste #EfW #RWM

This week our director Mark Terrell headed to Denmark for a two-day trip to meet new and prospective customers. During his time he certainly kept busy, travelling to five different cities and visiting four plant sites no less! Although Denmark is an established overseas export market for Andusia, we are actively looking to expand our presence here. Besides being a powerhouse for sustainable waste heat generation, it is also a beautifully clean and tidy country. And did we mention it serves the most delicious pastries, of which Mark took full advantage! #RDF #EfW #Waste #wienerbrød

2024 is set to be a record-breaking year for us! We’ve already exported over 245,000 tonnes of waste for energy recovery since the start of the year and are delighted to report that July was our best month ever in terms of volume of waste handled. During the month our logistics team moved 40,533 tonnes of RDF with the majority (60%) of this supplied to our plant customers in Germany and Sweden. Meanwhile, Denmark accounted for almost one-quarter (23%) of exports. It’s also worth noting that January 2024 was our second-biggest month ever for volume moved. As a result, we expect to export a record 400,000 tonnes of waste by the end of this year! Click below to read more: #RDF #Export #waste #EfW

We keep setting sail with our busy export operations! Over the past month we have exported more than 12,000 tonnes of RDF, with four bulk vessels departing from UK ports in the past four weeks alone. The shipments are for our customers in Denmark and Sweden, and are a popular export option as space and volume are optimised on-board the vessel, making it a cost-effective way to transport our bales. There are also carbon savings to be gained from bulk shipping in this way. If you’d like to find out more, just give our team a call and we can help you with your waste requirements 01992 666257 or via [email protected] #RDF #EfW #Export #bulkshipping #waste

Summer is upon us and at Andusia, we’ve got all your RDF needs covered! While some of our competitors may have stopped collecting waste due to seasonal fluctuations in the market, we haven’t – our logistics team are just as busy overseeing export shipments to all of our customers across Europe. Last week alone two vessels loaded with our wrapped bales set sail from UK docks (England and Scotland). These type of bulk shippings are proving very popular right now and the frequency of these sailings hasn’t dropped off since the start of the year. Our drivers also continue to put in the mileage across various routes for our truck containers, where road journeys make more sense in terms of efficiency and end-destination. Our ability to keep waste moving all year round really does set us apart from other UK exporters. We oversee the export of almost 8,000 tonnes of RDF each week – that’s 1 tonne of waste every 21 seconds! Why not give us a call? #RDF #EfW #export #Waste
