New Beginnings! A new month is an opportunity to begin again and for some reason, June just feels like a New Beginnings kind of month! If you've been feeling like this year has gone by too fast and you haven't accomplished as much as you'd like, I would like to offer you 5 ways to begin again and create a New Beginning. ☞ Revisit your vision and goals to reawaken and strengthen your convictions. You remember where you wrote those goals? Go back and read them again. Slowly. Remember your why and dream about how you would feel when you accomplish them. ☞. Next, I invite you to write down your renewed commitments. Are those goals what you still desire to achieve? Are your timelines realistic? Is the goal still relevant? ☞ Rejig your daily and weekly routines in service of your goals. As James Clear will say, 'you don't rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems'. What does your morning routine look like? What is your bedtime ritual? ☞ Get an accountability partner/system! This is a game changer! If you know you're still working on your self-discipline, then put some money behind getting someone else to hold you accountable. This could be a friend or a coach; but the person should be someone who encourages and enforces. ☞ Finally, schedule regular review session on your goals and vision. A goal not regularly reviewed, can soon be derailed. How far off from your target are you? By reviewing regularly, you're able to remain flexible and pivot quickly when the need arises. Embracing Gratitude for Success Success isn't just about ambition and hard work; it's also about having the right mindset. One of the most important tools in your success arsenal is gratitude. Being thankful for what you have can fuel your journey towards what you want. It's not just about appreciating the big wins; it's about finding joy in the little things too. Today, I want to share a few rays of gratitude that have illuminated my path. My Finance Team: A Pillar of Support My finance team has been an unwavering source of support. Their dedication and hard work in navigating difficult times have not only impressed me but also underscored the power of teamwork. Together, we've weathered storms and emerged stronger, reminding me that we are capable of achieving remarkable feats when we stand together. Filming My Book: A Journey of Discovery I’ve had the privilege of dedicating three weeks to bringing the pages of my book to life on film. This venture was a first in my life, and it came with its share of challenges and revelations. What touched me most was the deepening of my friendship with the talented videographer who brought my words to the screen. Our collaboration was not just about work; it was about shared creativity and a promise of more exciting projects in the future. It's a testament to the magic that unfolds when we step outside our comfort zones. Learning Flexibility: A Key to Connection In my journey of personal growth, I've been embracing flexibility. It's a skill that allows me to go for a refreshing walk with my partner and then seamlessly transition to my outreach calls. This newfound flexibility has opened the door to connecting with my partner on a deeper level, bringing him closer to my life. It's a reminder that meaningful connections can be nurtured even during a busy schedule. These few moments of gratitude serve as a compass, guiding me through life's maze. They remind me of the beauty in everyday moments and the power of human connection. Today, I encourage you to pause and reflect. What can you be grateful for right now? Anyone has the time; you just gotta carve out a time slot… and there you go! ·        You may think you can’t connect to your heart. – Just another lie you’re telling yourself. The only piece of it that’s true is that you haven’t practiced it lately… but know, you do know! You just gotta remember how to. ·        You may think no one gets you. – What if you could find someone who does? There’s a myriad of experts who provide guidance. You just gotta find the right fit (and preferably a real expert). So… despair no more! Schedule conversations with a few coaches or practitioners and hire your favorite! That’s it! Just get the process started… now! Because your life is too short and precious for you to let it go to waste. Right? So, what if you could have that "beach feeling" every single day of the week? If you missed the bulls-eye would you keep trying? 🎉 Happy New Year wonderful people 🎉 I kid you not. New Year's resolutions are hard! Especially when we: → Set vague goals. → Forget to track our progress. → Don’t have enough clarity on our why. I didn't know it then, but: → Pre-booking my accountability appointments. → Sharing goals with my accountability group. → And falling in love with the process instead of getting miserably fixated on the outcome. Was the BEST thing I did to make (most) of my 2023 New Year's resolutions stick. Accountability kept me focused & performing with excellence when my plans were going great and when things went horribly wrong. 🔋 There's power in accountability. 🔋 There's power in being held accountable. 🔋 There's power in holding yourself accountable. Taking 100% responsibility for your actions and outcomes (both the successes and the failures) makes the difference between good and great. Fulfilling the promises you make to yourself builds the confidence & self-esteem to believe that your goals are possible. 🛑 Stop putting your dreams to sleep… ✅ Practise your skills in public. ✅ Create your accountability group. ✅ And build your professional network. ALWAYS GRATEFUL, NEVER SATISFIED. This idea - always grateful, never satisfied - has been something I’ve felt for as long as I can remember. But the first time I expressed it in these specific words was earlier this year when spending QT with a friend. (I’m looking at you Annalise Rodli.) It resonated with both of us, and definitely has a turning of the year kind of vibe, so I’m sharing it as my last post of 2023. Gratitude is a grounding force for me. Part of my daily practice. It helps me cherish the present, celebrate achievements, and nurture an overall positive mindset. And gratitude fuels humility and resilience. But gratitude doesn’t mean complacency. Navigating professional and personal development (which are inextricably linked) is a constant. The pursuit of improvement, accomplishing goals, and learning new things can all coexist seamlessly with gratitude. Ambition is not the enemy of contentment. It’s the catalyst that helps us reach our fullest potential. Valuing achievements while holding a determination to surpass them is a dance between acknowledging the present and imagining a brighter future. So here’s to 2024 – and cultivating a mindset where gratitude and ambition both thrive! 🎉 New Year’s On My Terms 🎉 Our world is dictated by calendars and universal countdowns, it’s a fact of life, and it’s the reason the new year is a big deal celebrated around the globe 🌍 Many put significance on new beginnings, new years and second chances, including me! 🤔However, years ago I stumbled upon a liberating revelation – the ability to handpick when my New Year begins. The concept might sound unconventional, but for me, it has been a game-changer, allowing me to synchronize the start of a new year with personal milestones, specific meetings or plans. 🏋️A few years back I had made the decision to start working with a career and business coach, another year a personal fitness trainer. In both cases our first meetings were set to take place a few days or weeks into January. These years I set my intention to start my new year after these meetings and after plans were put into place. Another year I didn’t have any specific meeting or date but just didn’t feel ready to determine my intentions or goals for the year, so I started my new year on the third Monday of January. 📆 Life's pivotal moments rarely adhere to a calendar, so consider planning your new beginnings to start on whatever date works for you! Choosing when my New Year starts has become a deliberate act of empowerment, a declaration that my journey is uniquely mine. Whether it's tied to accomplishments, lessons learned, or personal growth. 🧘♂️This approach has allowed me to reflect on the past, appreciate the present, and set intentions for the future at moments that truly matter to me on my schedule. So, as I embark on another round of self-discovery and growth, I invite you to consider the idea of choosing when your New Year begins. Embrace the freedom to celebrate life's milestones on your terms and redefine the significance of counting down to a new chapter.
