Seeing the 3 panels side by side from Pixar Animation Studios post from last month reminds me of how the #b2b #buyingcommittee is continuously evolving and changing in #2024. Some sources saying up to 20 unique individuals in the decision making process! See comments for link Seven different generations including: Greatest Generation (1901-1927) Silent Generation (1928-1945) Baby Boomer (1946-1964) Gen X (1965-1980) Millennials (1981-1996) Gen Z (1996-2012) Gen Alpha (2013-2025) What are ways you are engaging with and promoting content to your buying committee influencers and decision makers? Millennials are making up more and more % of the buying committee stakeholders. #strategicmarketing #buyingcommittee #millennials

Is there a bigger summer winner than the #barbiemovie? It drove massive visit growth to theaters - AMC Theatres and Regal Cinemas saw some of their strongest months for visits since the start of 2017 - and topped the list of summer zeitgeisty topics alongside the like of Taylor Swift. And the key point might be that it was the movies themselves - add Oppenheimer and others to the mix here - that really drove the buzz. This is important because it acknowledges the fundamental truth of theater potential - it depends on the content. And because it depends on the content, the challenges facing the segment remain, but there is also ample room for innovative ideas that drive excitement and visits. How do you think theaters will perform in the final months of 2023?

We’re currently in a box office slump, with George Miller’s $168m action epic Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and The Garfield Movie marking the worst-performing Memorial Day weekend in ~30 years — aside from 2020, when theaters were closed. That begs the question: But could high-tech gimmicks bring audiences back? We're talking: 💺Seats that vibrate, sway, twist, or otherwise move with the film ☔️Atmosphere effects (e.g., snow, rainstorms, fog, wind, lightning, temperature changes, etc.) 👃Scents In today's edition of The Hustle, we're taking a closer look at this strategy, and what else these "4DX theaters" have in store for the future of film.

This was a really interesting question from Tony Garcia (see comments below)👇🏻 with my initial thoughts. I would love to hear your ideas, thoughts and opinions? “Since you're in the industry - how would one pitch a (mostly developed) idea that would allow for a different experience every time someone went to see the SAME movie? (potentially driving people to see the movie multiple times)” …like Netflix Bandersnatch? Choose your own movie adventure? If it was the same content, reframing the movie/experience would do it; kinda like playing your old music collection on a new piece of hi-fi equipment, or a new format. Remastered in a better, more exciting format; Dolby Atmos and Vision over at Dolby Europe would certainly add to that film’s impact on an individual, a more immersive experience (picture and sound), I felt this watching ET in IMAX and Jaws in 3D a few years back, as would Cineworld Cinemas Ltd 4DX, ScreenX, 3D etc which can change the way people relate to the movie. Also, the films marketing and the stories behind the movie, highlighting the importance of the film and/or topic and/or the cast, which is why the back catalogue and re-releases have done well for cinema last year, the movie classics gaining weight as they move forwards, a change in audience, different times from hehe the film was made and a new generation getting something new from a film. Awards are a great example of this and often, a BAFTA or Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award will drive the value of that picture, artist, overall effect of a film and drive audiences to it. I could go on and on, but I hope that’s an insight into what is being done right now and have given food for thought to inspire you all. Happy Easter 🐣 Weekend.
This is the second announcement I’ve seen of a smaller studio partnering with a cinema/technology partner. Here at Bad Blood Films we approached Cineworld Cinemas Ltd direct to distribute our first feature 4 years ago! #aheadofthecurve AMC Theatres will host the five-day event in more than 40 cities and on 100 of its locations, with tickets going for $8. The lineup includes Split, The Purge, Ouija: Origin of Evil, Insidious and The Invisible Man. #horror #directdistribution #blumhouse #amc

1moThe Sight movie is a must-see movie because it teaches us that Life does not happen without difficulties, and the straight line literally isn't possible, but nevertheless, never give up. The entire movie has phenomenal teachings about honor, sacrifice, having a spirit of vision, and using voices of truth to communicate hope in the midst of trials. Triumph is always on the horizon!
