We are so excited to announce that our Advisory Associate, Priska, represented us at the annual Women Ecosystem Catalyst Award Night hosted by Women Ecosystem Catalyst Indonesia. In collaboration with various stakeholders such as Sampoerna Untuk Indonesia, Perkumpulan Imajinasi Penaja Mula and the Central Java SME Cooperative Office, this programme aimed to support and empower women entrepreneurs and organisations in various sectors such as agriculture and renewable energy. In one of the key components of this Award Night, there was a speed dating session, allowing startups and companies to be connected with each other. During the speed dating session, our representative, Priska, was matched with various startups that specialised in a wide variety of industries such as agriculture and fashion. She then articulated the key service offerings that ANGIN provided, detailing the ways that ANGIN could help these startups to succeed. We are sure that Priska had a whale of a time at this event. We would like to thank Women Ecosystem Catalyst for extending their invitation to ANGIN to participate in this event. We also want to thank the startups, Rumah Etnik Papua, Gloeshoes Leather, Alumna, CV Global Net HR, Laumpung Ethnica, Tongkonan Qufe, Sinagi Papua and Kopi Gucialit for giving us the opportunity to share what we do at ANGIN. We hope that your startups will continue to witness great success!

Indonesia has more than 64 million MSMEs representing 98% of all businesses in the nation. These companies contribute more than 61% to the local economy. Estimates suggest that more than half of these are, in fact, women-owned. Over the years, AC Ventures has cultivated a strong, thesis-driven investment philosophy that largely focuses on supporting female tech founders, but also empowering women-owned MSMEs through our portfolio of startups. We believe that diversity is crucial to success and are committed to identifying and investing in women-led startups in the region. “At AC Ventures, we have a 50:50 gender-balanced team and 40% female leadership across our portfolio. Female founders deal with unique challenges and we actively provide the resources, network, and mentorship to help them thrive. By backing women-led startups, we aim to drive positive societal change at scale and foster a more inclusive ecosystem for all entrepreneurs in ASEAN,” said Helen Pei-Hua Wong, Managing Partner, AC Ventures. Here's your sign to take a giant leap! I did extensive research of resources available to help accelerate our start-up, bumii, to make climate action accessible to both people (our monthly newsletter informing Malaysians on the latest climate projects to volunteer for) and companies (helping SMEs to integrate climate action in their operations) But I often chickened out at the last minute. I was scared to apply to fellowships or competitions because I felt like not many people would resonate with our mission. But then, I realised I was sabotaging myself. Our newsletters had increasing followers, more partnerships with local organisations were formed, and most importantly, people understood what we were doing. So I did it. I applied for SheDisrupts 2023, a venture competition to help female-led start-ups grow in Malaysia. Whatever the outcome, I was still proud of our work and how far we've come. But lo and behold, we're through and commencing our first round next week! Looking forward to seeing how we'll grow and learn from mentors in the social impact space. So, if you're ever in doubt about doing something, do it. What's the worst thing that could happen? :) #socialimpact #malaysia #venturecompetition #startup

❤️Picture recaps of The 2023 YSEALI Enviro-Tech Regional Workshop Chiang Mai. After finishing bachelor degree, a big question related job orientation, long-term passion, etc entirely occupies my mind. In 2 years, I pursuit social impact startups: Vinastraws and Musa Pacta, they gave my precious chances to enhance my problem-solving skill, business knowlegde. And I know that It’s time to thoroughly reflect myself, answer questions whether what is the next step I have to take, which skill should be sharpened. ❤️ Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI)

I don't do post very often, but when I do.. Is when I realized too many bad perceptions among the ecosystem players with other stakeholders. I have the pleasure of being featured in a panel with Pak Mahpud Sujai from Badan Kebijakan Fiskal from Kemenkeu and Prof Atien a (very) senior researcher from BRIN. Our audience is a cluster of promising startups that Greentech Entrepreneur Network, a joint effort by GIZ Indonesia & ASEAN and Endeavor Indonesia The constant streaming questions and response are coming from the place of us vs. your perspectives. I am not claiming I am one such non-biased person in the room, but if there's only one thing from my years in building Supernova Ecosystem had taught me is that nobody wants to be an antagonists in anybody's book. When we say entrepreneurs doing product-market-fit, the policy-makers also doing the same thing. We are all in this same boat of 'figuring things out'. We do realize regulators have this duty to protect the interests of society, which in Indonesia, are very far wide and in-betweens. We need to see compromise among the speed of innovations (which we are desperately needs) with the safety and well-being of the people. The unregulated innovations can be a two-edge sword if not regulated appropriately. There's enough news out there to prove this, where this make the whole ecosystem looks bad. Do your part and understand what the other stakeholders feel, and, most importantly, collaborate and sit in one table! #ecosystem #indonesia #entrepreneurs

Last week, we were all ears at the #PollinatePotluck, absorbing wisdom from the No Nonsense Advice: Incubator to Incubator session. The highlight? Benedicta Naa Odarkor Ablateye - (BA, MSc)'s (Deputy Hub Manager, Kumasi Hive) golden words: "Carve a niche for yourself as an incubator. What do people identify you with?" It's not about being just another incubator in the crowd, it's about STANDING OUT! It's about being that unique hub where ideas bloom and innovations flourish. It's about being recognized for what YOU bring to the table. So, what's YOUR identity? Are you the tech whizz, the sustainability champion, the social impact trailblazer? Or perhaps you're the incubator that fosters female entrepreneurship or celebrates local ingenuity? Let's not forget Benedicta's advice: Your identity is your power. Your niche is your calling card. So, let's embrace it, let's amplify it, let's be known for it! #IncubatorInsights #NichePower #BeUnique #StandOut #PollinatePotluck #BenedictaAblateye #KumasiHive #IncubatorToIncubatorAdvice
