Helping women leaders successfully navigate change and transitions. Focusings on the communication and marketing industries. I Coach I Yoga teacher I Comms strategist I Bloom Member and Mentor

There is one thing I am determined to ban from my life. It is stopping myself from doing things because I am not ready yet. Or not confident yet. I used to do that and then be lost in an endless cycle of ‘reading more, training more, learning more’. And still I never felt ready! Now I know readiness and confidence are not the starting point, they are the end point. You just have to take a little step outside your comfort zone, and then another. Stretch yourself, do things you are not confident to do. Then, all of a sudden, your comfort zone starts to stretch too, and confidence comes. Anna Coscia so agree with you! I attended a startup weekend for precisely this reason. 54 hours from idea to pitch so there was no time for procrastination, perfectionism or waiting...it just had to happen. Greatest experience of my life and made me realise how much I had put things off in the past.

Love this. As a self-professed perfectionist, I relate to those apprehensive thoughts. I’m reminded of Eleanor Roosevelt’s sage words: “You must do the thing you think you cannot do!”

How I love this! I’m a big believer that ‘confidence is not a requirement to begin something new, it is the result of beginning something new’
