🔬 New research update - Congrats to the team! Just in time to celebrate #WorldEngineeringDay for Sustainable Development, this year highlighting the critical roles engineering play in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals #WED2024. We're thrilled to announce our latest paper exploring the world of sustainable additive manufacturing. Here, we explore the latest research in sustainable fusion-based and solid-state-based AM technologies. Key points: • Analysed recycled aluminium as a feedstock, evaluating material properties, sustainability, and industry adoption. • Explored emission reduction strategies through solid-state-based and fusion-based aluminium recycling methods. • Assessed the impact of material production for additive manufacturing on resource consumption. • Explained the role of recycled aluminium and additive manufacturing in fostering a Circular Economy and advancing UN sustainable development goals. We're excited about the potential impact of our findings on making manufacturing more sustainable!
