Open Keynote at #googlenext23 featured the following 6 new announcements: 1️⃣General availability of A3 virtual machines from next month. A3 VMs will be powered by Nvidia H100 GPUs and are purpose-built to train and serve demanding #genai workloads and #llms. 2️⃣The launch of the Cloud TPU v5e, described as the "most cost-efficient and accessible cloud TPU to date" 3️⃣GKE Enterprise (preview) a new premium edition of GKE. With GKE Enterprise, companies can increase velocity across multiple teams, easily and securely run their most important business-critical workloads, and reduce total cost of ownership with a fully integrated and managed solution from Google Cloud 4️⃣Google Distributed Cloud extends Google Cloud’s infrastructure and services to the edge and into your data centers. It's enabled by Anthos and is ideal for local data processing, edge computing, on-premises modernization, and meeting sovereignty, strict data security, and privacy requirements. 5️⃣Titanium System is a system of purpose-built, custom silicon and multiple tiers of scale-out offloads that together power improvements in the performance, reliability, and security of our customers’ workloads (for example, 25% faster block storage IOPS/instance compared to the other two leading hyperscalers). 6️⃣Cross cloud network is a global networking platform that, in Google’s words, was “designed to enable customers to gain access to Google services more easily from any cloud.”

Some great Microsoft numbers summed up by Bob Evans to close out the week.   #Azure revenue grew 29%. #Microsoft Cloud revenue grew 24% and now accounts for 56% of Microsoft's total quarterly revenue.   18,000 organizations are using the Azure #OpenAI Service.   1,000,000 paid #Copilot users, and more than 37,000 organizations have subscribed to Copilot for Business. 40% of the Fortune 100 are taking advantage of Microsoft's "Early Access" program for Copilot.   "More than 73% of the Fortune 1000 use three or more of our #data solutions today," Nadella said, "More than 16,000 customers are actively using #Fabric, including over 50% of the Fortune 500."   21,000 customers use Azure #Arc to meet their #hybrid requirements.
